I love watermelons, and in younger years would be jumping barbed wire fences ahead of a shotgun carrying them out. For those who grade sins, what do you reckon the penalty for stealing watermelons would be? I ask because it’s close to that time of year, and I have a craving ..read more

Dealing With Anger SCRIPTURE READING — EPHESIANS 4:25-32 Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly. — Proverbs 14:29 Anger is a powerful emotion that, if left unchecked, can lead to hurtful words and actions. As followers of Christ, we are called to deal with anger in a way that honors God and promotes reconciliation. When anger rises within us, we pause and take a moment to reflect. We invite the Holy Spirit to help us respond... Read more ..read more

To do works or not to do works, that is the question.
Talk Jesus
by B-A-C

There are certain Christian denominations who take this "not saved by works" a little too far. I agree we are not saved "by" works. Nobody can work their way into heaven. No one gets saved without Jesus. But having said all that, are no works at all required? Even if they aren't required, is doing good deeds a bad thing? Some denominations talk about the dreaded "works" so much, they scare people from doing anything useful for God. Eph 2:8; For by grace you have been saved through... Read more ..read more

When Joshua was near the town of Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with sword in hand. Joshua went up to him and demanded, “Are you friend or foe?” Joshua 5:13 NLT You won’t find the title of today’s reading in scripture. But the famed Bible commentator Matthew Henry (1662-1714) applied the aphorism to Israel’s leader Joshua. Just ahead of Israel’s conquest of Jericho, Joshua saw an unknown man holding a sword and immediately challenged him: “Are you... Read more ..read more

EREV PESACH (First Night of Passover) Tonight is April 22nd, The First night of Passover. It must have been a night like this about 3500 years ago that thousands of lambs were sacrificed, and their blood placed on the doorposts of those houses. This was done per instructions via Moses, and Moses received these instructions directly from God. That night would be the night of all nights. A night to remember. Freedom from slavery was at the door. God himself would pay a visit... Read more ..read more

Is it ok for Christians to say "NO"?? I've been in ministry for over a decade. If I could have just convinced some folks BEFORE some decisions they made that it is more than ok to say "NO" -it would have saved them all A LOT of trouble. I could fill up this page with stories and times the word NO has saved me from untold trouble. Any stories you have about how the word NO has "saved" you? If I get any decent stories/feedback, I would like to use them for further articles... Read more ..read more

Dealing With Conflict SCRIPTURE READING — ROMANS 12:17-19 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. — Romans 12:18 Conflict is an inevitable part of life, but as followers of Christ we are called to pursue peace and reconciliation. The Dispensation of the Grace of God
Talk Jesus
by haleyd51939

The dispensation of grace began with Paul. Paul was the starting point. Paul was not saved before Acts 9. This is not arbitrary. Paul explains that a dispensation is not an arbitrary period of time, but rather begins with a revelation dispensed from God. “If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery…” – Ephesians 3:2-3 Click to expand... When was this grace first given to Paul? Answer: At his... Read more ..read more
