Love stories offer a dual sensation of warmth and longing, fostering a sense of belonging. They evoke a craving for love, yet often we overlook its true significance, perhaps taking it for granted. For teenagers, whether immersed in romantic novels or captivated by Bollywood films, love narratives ignite the imagination, inviting them to envision their own tales of romance. Imagine the disruption when a deranged ex, a stalker, or a delusional lover barges in, shattering your idyllic reverie. Yet, is it the antagonist of your narrative that truly infuses it with purpose, highlighting the signif ..read more

Nostalgic Reflections: A Tribute to NIT Rourkela- School Of Management’s Impact on My Journey

As I stumbled upon a recent post celebrating a graduation from an esteemed institution, it dawned on me that four years have swiftly passed since I walked across the stage at NIT Rourkela- School of Management to receive my MBA degree. The flood of memories rushed back, reminding me of the invaluable lessons learned both inside and outside the classroom. The transition from an engineering background to pursuing an MBA was filled with uncertainty and nervous anticipation. The initial interviews, the first day of classes – each moment was a blend of excitement and trepidation. Yet, amidst the ne ..read more

Hostel Chronicles: Cooking Memories and Life Skills

In the hustle and bustle of hostel life, amidst the camaraderie with friends and roommates, it’s the memories that stick with us. Reflecting on those days, late-night diaries and impromptu cooking sessions flood my mind, most notably our midnight Maggie escapades and kettle experiments with new dishes. Hostel life isn’t just a collection of memories; it’s a crash course in responsibility. I vividly recall my early days, setting foot in the hostel with a newfound sense of independence—my bank account and money designated solely for me. The thrill was palpable, yet the initial months were a fina ..read more

Weekends hold a special place in our hearts, serving as a cherished time for families to come together, engage in lively conversations, play games, and savour meals in each other’s company. However, the definition of weekends evolves as life progresses. From college escapades to navigating the demands of adulthood, weekends become a canvas on which we paint memories that colour our lives. During my college days, weekends were a beacon of freedom, the only time when we could venture beyond the confines of the hostel gates. Those precious two days offered the opportunity to explore the city, ind ..read more

Love in Unexpected Places: Embracing Valentine’s Day Beyond Tradition

Valentine’s Day, a global celebration of love, is often associated with the warmth and care shared among people worldwide. Personally, I haven’t had many opportunities to partake in Valentine’s Day festivities, as the conventional perception suggests the need for a designated valentine. Growing up in a middle-class family, the concept of celebrating this day wasn’t deeply ingrained in our traditions. Occasionally, I’d playfully wish my parents “Happy Valentine’s Day,” leading to amusing conversations about how to respond. This year brought a unique twist as Saraswati Puja coincided with Valen ..read more

Something Happened On The Way To Heaven” edited by Sudha Murty After nearly a two-year hiatus from avid book reading, punctuated by sporadic literary indulgences, I have committed in 2024 to revive my long-lost passion for reading. Among the three books I’ve embarked upon this year, completing one feels like a significant accomplishment, and I’m excited to share my thoughts on it. My inaugural book review for the year is dedicated to “Something Happened on the Way to Heaven,” expertly edited by Sudha Murty. This anthology comprises 20 short stories, each penned by a different author and meticu ..read more

Day 1 I am contemplating this pep talk for ages. As I didn’t have reasons to head the cycle nor do I had the interest to run on the treadmill. I always felt comfortable in my skin and hence never felt the need for it. Recently the health took an uphill, being a PCOD patient, it is tough with all sorts of imbalances from hair loss to weight gain accompanied by all the menstrual cycle issues. Finally after the roller coaster ride, I landed at the door of gyms. Damn sound so interesting right. Let me tell you it is scary far from the reality of “I went from this to that in the flick of reel” The ..read more

Are you a part of assumption middle class family?

Well a middle class family- a 2bhk flat or a typical one roof house with 2-3 rooms at max. Situated at the end of the lane where you need a rickshaw, tonga or tok tok or whatever you call it in your language to reach your house, no matter how close your lane is from the famous bus stop. Don’t worry, I won’t fuss over how middle class family saves every plastic bag in another big bag and keeps it below your mattress or how a new storage unit is created under the bed… While I would love to mention the SHARMA JI next door who might not have a child that’s so idealistic to be stated as an example ..read more

World Mental Health Day is celebrated on 10 October… This month marks as an awareness month as well.. And to contribute I shared few posts pinned down in simple language for people to understand… What strike the most? Am I making sense at all.. You can copy-paste the definition from Google and shared it for one day in your social media to spread awareness… Does it help in reality… Right from childhood I always felt the need to understand things, be it educational or teaching about life as the definition doesn’t paint a picture to look into it… So now the question returns to the same place, wil ..read more
