Better late than never. It's still the weekend of the Thanksgiving holiday so here is another holiday themed film that fits the bill. I have heard of this one but it's a first time watch for me. The cast was an immediate draw that made me so amped to finally review.
Me and Charles talked about how we loved the 70s fashion, question how this wasn't nominated for any Oscars, and basically talk other films in the 'domestic drama' category
Off-topic rants include: Oscars/Award show facts, an embarrassing antidote, and the hierarchy of wildlife documentaries

Groovy baby, yeah!
Yes, even I can't believe there are movies that we haven't talked about yet and we're over 150 episodes in. This is another example of just that. Austin Powers is a comfort film for me that I didn't' realize until I started this review. The soundtrack has been burned into my brain for years as I used to play it to fall asleep throughout my mid teens.
Me and Mikey reviewed this one and it was laughs all the way through! We get into the hilarious moments, LOTS of behind the scenes, the FASHION, and rave about the fact that this soundtrack is a whole swingin' VIBE ..read more

It's first for the podcast! On this special bonus edition me and Jules are giving our thoughts on the new Sofia Coppola film, Priscilla that just premiered last week. We were instantly enthralled by the amazing visuals and world that Sofia creates around her characters so well.
There is no format for this one so enjoy this random chat covering the film, the Lana Del Rey of it all, how we're so intrigued by Priscilla, Elvis being a weirdo, and more!
? We made a special old timey playlist too! Listen here: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4gZrIGLleSCLx1AmduWc78?si=09ed7c5e37064bed ..read more

This film has been on my list for a while but it slipped my memory as of late. It popped into my head and I was sure that Jai would be up to do an episode on it.
Much to my surprise this was her first time watching and this was probably my second or third watch. This film is an incredible true story of a 13 year old girl Christiane F. taking place in mid 70s West Berlin.
I was so focused on the performances and depictions of drug abuse and the desperation of youth at that time. In contrast the acting feels so raw and ..read more

What a cute little movie! A great way to end off this October season and a perfect vibe for this Halloween! This is my first time watching this one and although I feel like I've seen it through film stills on Tumblr already. Nothing could have prepared me for how I want to LIVE inside of this movie. In the house, garden, and especially with the coolest Aunts in the galaxy.
Me and Mikey covered this one and even though he's seen it multiple times, it's still every bit as exciting. Our only gripes were that the story seemed a bit weird in the middle. While we were hoping for more of a Thel ..read more

This is another one of those films I'm surprised we haven't covered until now. I have faint memories of watching this in a 90s basement during a sleepover as a kid but it's definitely been a while since I've watched as an adult. Luckily Jules had never heard of this one and we get her first time watch thoughts.
We both talk about how the two primary characters, Macaulay Culkin and Elijah Wood were acting their hearts out in this, the normie 90s fashion and nod to Tonya Harding, and the WILD behind the scenes drama involved.

It's been a while since we've reviewed a film after 2000. Y Tu Mamá También has been on my list and it's the perfect film for this summer heat and the spirit of adventure and exploration.
Me and Jai had a great time diving into this world that neither one of us have visited in quite a while. Directed by Alfonso Cuarón who takes you on a short but fulfilling journey that leaves you questioning and reminiscing about your own similar experiences.
We found a lot of behind the scenes info, drool over Gael, and realize jus ..read more

I have to say that Misery has been on my list to watch and review for a minute. This really is the perfect film for the October season. A winter cabin, cozy decor, and a seemingly Good Samaritan who turns out to be a...let's just say "over zealous fan".
Charles was in the throws of a Kathy Bates era in the 90s and this is essentially my first watch. We get into the practical winter fashion, the Sheriff and Deputy wife stealing scenes, changes from the novel to screen, and the long list of actors who turned down the role of Paul Sheldon.

Well it's October season and we're here to bring the thrills and chills. Charles picked this one and by about 20 mins in I was terrified. The concept of any type of abduction is terrifying, alien or not. While this was released in '93, its based on a true story that happened in the 70s.
We had a time chatting this movie including the male logging thirst trap montage early on, the fashion choices, and why you should never leave the house or get out of a car to investigate a strange hovering red beam of light in the dar forest.

Since everyone loves our chat episodes, me and Jai talk another hectic fashion month season. Neither one of us are too crazy about spring fashion in general, but we did talk about our favorite (and not so fave) collections for a whole 2 hours.
We break it down by cities: New York, London, Milan, and finally Paris. Some of the brands we talk are: Proenza Schouler, Gucci, JW Anderson, Sacai, Prada, and much more!
? Enjoy!
