On Monday, April 29 the Islanders went head to head against the La Jolla Vikings on their Senior Night. This game was far from close as the Islanders took an early lead and continued to increase it, with a final score of 18-3. Final Score This was a great night for the seniors, earning a huge win and celebrating their last season as Islander lacrosse players. Dubbed the “Mojo Marathon” by Real Pro Volleyball commentator Jake Herman, the San Diego Mojo Women’s Professional Volleyball Team triumphed over the Orlando Valkyries in five sets that lasted 2.5 hours at SDSU’s Viejas Arena, 25-18, 19-25, 25-15, 18-25, 15-11. Photo credit: John McCauley The ocean water closures due to sewage contamination has been especially frustrating for Teevan McManus, a long-time resident who has run Coronado Surfing Academy for 19 years. He and his team have not been able to offer surfing lessons since last October due to the continuous poor water quality at Coronado beaches.
