Health Canada will be hosting information sessions on the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), as more details are now available. At these sessions, information on the services covered, established CDCP fees and provider participation details will be shared. It will also be a great opportunity for oral health providers and their staff to ask questions. Each year we audit the Continuing Competence Program (CCP) records of about 5% of dental assistants. We use random selection to make a list of who will participate. The requirement for Council members to attend Council meetings has been in our policies for years. However, adding it to our Bylaws aligns it better with the Health Professions Act and makes it easier for us to enforce.
