Ask a few children what they like best about Christmas and their answers will be unanimous: gifts. Of course it is! Everyone loves getting gifts.—And what better season to give and receive than Christmas. In fact the story of Christmas began with God giving us the best gift of all—Jesus Himself. For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son Jn. 3:16. And in the giving of His Son as a gift came—wrapped up in Jesus—a se ..read more

They’re tearing down statues
Thinking its exalting their virtues
But here’s the mystery,
Does it really pay to destroy history?
Those heroes or villains of our past
Their legacy should be allowed to last
We can still learn from what they did,
These lessons should not be hid.
Maybe they did good, maybe they did bad
It could have brought us happiness or made us sad.

I read the tale of Samson from
the Book of Judges past.
Where Samson slays a thousand, there’s
a word that held me fast.
And why the author used that word
I didn’t have a clue—
a little word that made no sense:
that little word was NEW.
How would it really matter if
the jawbone had been old?
And could the newness of the bone
affect the story told?
And why fight with a jawbone when
an axe would ..read more

If you had told me, even 3 months ago, that I would be serving God, I would have laughed at you and probably would’ve made some form of a blasphemous joke. Thanks to the grace of God, He has opened my eyes and shown me the error of my ways—all through the power of prayer and thanks to fervent pleading on my behalf from some of my friends and family.
God never pushed me to come back to Him. He let me come to this decision on ..read more
