CHICAGO (CBS) — A homeless man was stabbed while riding a Pace bus Thursday night between Libertyville and Vernon Hills. Vernon Hills police said the 58-year-old man was riding a Pace bus on Milwaukee Avenue between Greentree Parkway in Libertyville and Gregg’s Parkway in Vernon Hills shortly after 8 p.m., when another homeless man attacked him stabbing him multiple times. The victim was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized. He was expected to recover. CHICAGO (CBS) — Dax the dog fetched a couple of suspected car thieves early Saturday morning in Lake County. According to Lake County Sheriff’s police, a sheriff’s sergeant spotted a red Tesla speeding in the area of Route 60 and Route 21 in Vernon Hills around 12:30 a.m. The car, which was determined to be stolen, was found disabled a short time later near Route 41 and Route 176. VERNON HILLS, Ill. (STMW) — One of two construction workers injured in a partial wall collapse at the Westfield Hawthorn Mall in north suburban Vernon Hills late Thursday night has died. Lake County Coroner Robert Rudd confirmed Friday morning that one of the workers had died from his injuries. Jacob Hagemann, 85, pleaded not guilty to four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and 17 counts of aggravated sexual assault before Judge Christopher Stride on Tuesday.
