and for those on the Old Calendar, just one difference, the Annunciation is on April 7th! There is a lot to expect this month, as we journey towards Pascha (May 5th). This particular season is very full for my family, so I’m conserving some energy in order to continue to live the Liturgical season most fully - preparing fasting meals, attending weekly services, preparing for Holy Week/Pascha! So I don’t have extra slides/links for this month like I usually do. If you are needing some extra resources, check out some of my blogposts below: Subscribe Sign up with your email address for more prac ..read more

I love major feast days, and I especially love any feast day that honors our Most Holy Theotokos! On March 25th, exactly 9 months until Christmas, the Orthodox Church celebrates the feast of the Annunciation - when the Archangel Gabriel announced to Mary that she was chosen to carry and give birth to our Lord. This is a very special feast in our calendar year so we wanted to do something special. We made these DIY Pressed Flower Stickers: Supplies: - Wax paper (or parchment paper) - Clear packing tape - Pressed flowers Lay down wax paper and cover it with a single layer of clear packing tape ..read more

For the feast of the Annunciation, we hosted a sweet activity for the children in our parish - makings the beginning of a Mary Garden! As apart of our parish feast day tradition, for all major feasts we host a church wide potluck, and kids corner. With the help of a friend, we teach the children the significance of that particular feast day and do a special craft. If you would like to make your own, like the one I made above, I put together the items purchased in my Amazon storefront: Shop my links The beginnings of a Mary Garden, which is explained below: In Medieval Europe, pious Christian ..read more

A few months ago I set up an Amazon store front as an Affiliate with the hopes of making convenient lists of supplies for various feast days! Fun right? Majority of us use Amazon, so it’s just a convenient option for busy families. I will still be sharing small businesses and publishers (always best to buy directly from the publishers), but there are also several books now exclusively available through Amazon, as well as an abundant of diverse supplies needed to participate in the life of the Church. When shopping these links, now that each purchase will offer my family a small commission. I ..read more
