Cleveland Cavaliers rookie Emoni Bates may have come into the 2023-24 campaign in hopes of earning a solid role with the team.
However, he ended up making just 15 NBA appearances in the regular season, averaging 8.9 minutes and 2.7 points per game. He played in more games in the G League, and he was able to display his potential there, putting up 19.8 points and 5.9 rebounds per contest in the regular season.
The Cavs may still be in the thick of their playoff battle against the Orlando Magic, but it seems the 20-year-old wing has already set a goal for himself next season. His social media a ..read more

Mitchell believes that he hasn’t played at the top of his game ever since the first-round playoff series shifted to Orlando.
#Cavs Donovan Mitchell: "I told you after Game 1 this is who I am, and this is why I'm here. Both games we lost I haven't been myself. It's on me."
(Why haven't you been yourself? Is there something leading to that?)

The Cleveland Cavaliers fell back down to Earth in Game 3 of their series against the Orlando Magic, losing the matchup 121-83. Following the game, star big man Jarrett Allen issued heavy praise for Magic head coach Jamahl Mosley.
The praise was so effusive that it forced The Athletic’s Joe Vardon to question whether or not the praise was a veiled shot at Allen’s own skipper, Cavs head coach J.B. Bickerstaff.
“You could tell that (Magic coach) Jamahl Mosley did an excellent job planning for this game,” said Allen. “There’s times when I was just in the corner, I stood in the corner last game ..read more

Orlando Magic players Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs reportedly were talking to the Cleveland Cavaliers’ bench, and Paolo Banchero taunted his defenders after made buckets in Game 3 of the first-round playoff series between the Cavaliers and Magic.
“Banchero was backing down Cavs’ defenders, and then telling them they’re too small after his shots went through the hoop,” Joe Vardon wrote.
“Suggs was screaming at Cleveland’s bench, as was Franz Wagner.”
The Magic supposedly aimed most of their trash talk at two Cavaliers players who haven’t seen the floor all too much in the playoffs.

The Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t been to the second round of the playoffs since the 2017-18 season. They are one step closer to advancing to that stage after Donovan Mitchell’s heroics gave them a Game 1 win over the Orlando Magic on Saturday in their first-round matchup.
Mitchell scored 30 to lift Cleveland to a 97-83 victory. Fortunately, a lack of sleep didn’t hurt his performance. According to the five-time All-Star, he was able to sleep for just two to three hours on the eve of the series opener due to excitement.

Cleveland Cavaliers big man Jarrett Allen doesn’t seem to have any qualms about saying that the lights were “brighter than expected” following the team’s loss to the New York Knicks in the opening round of the 2023 NBA Playoffs.
“You know, after the eclipse, we kept staring into the sun, so nothing can be as bright,” Allen said ahead of the start of the 2024 NBA Playoffs.
Allen said he isn’t concerned about his previous comments.
“I’ve said a lot worse stuff in my life, so that doesn’t mean much to me,” he said when asked if he regrets his words.
