From thursday 3rd (6pm) to sunday 8th (3pm) of september.
For the beginning of the school year we are proposing a period of retreat in complete silence at Ryumonji monastery. This will be an opportunity, for 3 days to calm the spirit in good conditions and to learn or deepen one's practice of zen meditation (zazen). Beginners welcome.

This three week long retreat in june/july 2019 is an opportunity to discover or develope the practice of zen meditation and to experience monastic life in a buddhist temple. Two sessions are planned this summer : from the 20th of june to the 14th of july and from the 29th of june to the 22nd of july.

In december we will once more have the great pleasure of welcoming the japanese zen master Saikawa Roshi to Ryumonji monastery. He will spend two days at the temple in order, in particular, to preside over nun Annemie Genshin van Attenhoven's Hossen ceremony.

Several retreat periods are offered by the buddhist monastery Ryumonji (Alsace, France) during the summer. There is a special reduced rate if you come for a three week period of zen buddhist practice and meditation (zazen). Beginners are welcome to attend during this summer period, there will be introductions organised specifically for them and a monk or nun will be available to assist them.

In the life of a Zen practitioner, the ceremony of Jukai is a crucial step. It consists in receiving the precepts (Kai) of the Bodhisattva and, by doing so, of taking refuge in the three treasures: Buddha, Dharma, Sangha.
Important! These teachings on the theme of "Jukai" are open to all, even to people who have already done the ceremony or wish to do so later.

On Sunday, May 3rd, we propose a day of practice in homage to Master Deshimaru, who passed away 38 years ago. (April 30, 1982)
All the Grande Sangha will take part in it, at La Gendronnière, in all the affiliated temples and monasteries throughout Europe, and among the practitioners who cannot move during this period of confinement.
