It seemed as if De’Aaron Fox was on his way to an unideal performance during Friday night’s game in Phoenix, Arizona.
Then, the game entered the fourth quarter.
The NBA’s reigning Clutch Player of the Year put the Sacramento Kings on his back during the final 12 minutes of a 114-106 win over the Phoenix Suns, as Fox scored 23 (career-high for points scored in the fourth quarter) of his 34 points in the fourth to lead his team to victory.
Fox, who entered a tie for the NBA lead with his eighth 10+ point fourth quarter of the season, was the driving force for Sacramento late on a night that sta ..read more

While the Sacramento Kings’ 2023-24 NBA season has been underway, their developmental team in the Stockton Kings, led by Lindsey Harding, is more than halfway through their Showcase Cup.
With plenty of continuity between the two rosters, coach Harding hopes to build on last season’s regular season success in her first year at the helm.
Stockton’s roster has an atypical amount of NBA experience for the G-League, already featuring seven players who participated in Sacramento’s training camp: Jeremy Lamb, Jaylen Nowell, Deonte Burton, Chance Comanche, Jordan Ford, Jalen Slawson, and Jordan Ford ..read more

Since the New Orleans Pelicans eliminated them from the In-Season Tournament Monday night, the Sacramento Kings have heavily emphasized a need to improve defensively. Not qualifying for the semi-finals in Las Vegas granted the Kings a lighter schedule this week, with a three-day break before they face off against the Phoenix Suns on Friday.
They held two practices throughout that stretch, and their defense over the three games prior has been a common topic. Despite going 1-2 in those showings against the Pelicans, Denver Nuggets, and Los Angeles Clippers, the Sacramento Kings have been far fr ..read more

Following Monday night’s disappointing NBA In-Season Tournament loss to the New Orleans Pelicans, the Sacramento Kings took three days to regroup before playing their next game.
With the short break in the rearview, Sacramento (11-8) will look to get back on track on Friday night against a Phoenix Suns (12-9) team that will be without Kevin Durant (ankle), Bradley Beal (back), and Grayson Allen (groin).
The Kings will take a mostly healthy roster into Footprint Center, with Keegan Murray cleared to play after suffering a setback scare with his back on Monday night.

It was a concerning sight for Sacramento Kings fans when Keegan Murray grabbed his lower back and headed for the locker room during Monday night’s loss against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Murray, who has been dealing with a lower back injury described as sacroiliac (SI) joint irritation, returned to action following a four-game absence last weekend during Sacramento’s win over the defending champion Denver Nuggets.
While Murray appeared to suffer no setbacks over 23 minutes against the Nuggets, he grabbed at his lower back near the end of the first half on Monday after contesting a Brandon Ingr ..read more

Malik Monk has been a perfect fit for the Sacramento Kings’ second unit as a scoring presence, but the guard has done more than rack up points during his season-plus with the ‘Beam Team.’
Playmaking has been an underrated aspect of Monk’s game, as the 25-year-old ranks third on the team in assists per game (4.6, a career-high) and total assists (87) through 19 games played.
After setting a career-high in 2022-23 by finishing 30 games with five or more assists (up from 13 games in 2021-22), Monk continues to act as the unofficial floor general of a second unit that has lacked stability at the ..read more

According to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes, Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox turned down a two-year, $105 million extension before the 2023-24 regular season began in late October.
While the report that Fox declined an extension with the Kings might read negatively on the surface, the All-Star guard is looking to make an All-NBA team this season to make himself eligible to sign a super-max contract worth $245 million over four years.
Per Haynes’ report, Fox doesn’t have the desire to consider options outside of Sacramento and is looking to ink a long-term extension with the Kings before o ..read more
