Photo from actionnnetwork.com. Monday, October 18 8:15 PM ET Nashville, TN ESPN That was fun, BillsMafia. The Belichick throwing-the-phone game set a high bar for regular season joy, but that was at least matched at Arrowhead on Sunday night. The body language and facial expressions of Patrick Mahomes and the distress of the Chiefs’ head cheerleader Chris Collinsworth were priceless. I can’t even narrow this week’s performance down to three stars. Greg Rousseau, Micah Hyde, Josh Allen, Dawson Knox, Tremaine Edmunds, and Spencer Brown all deserve that honor. Week 4 AFC Defensive Player of the W ..read more

Buffalo Bills Win More Than One Game

Photo from sportingnews.com. Zeus tried to stop the Buffalo Bills.  If the god who’s deeply into lightning couldn’t slow momentum, then Andy Reid stood no chance.  Players learned to be patient, even if the lesson was stormily involuntary.  They waited for revenge since the conference championship game, so what’s another hour in the crummy visiting locker room?  We’ll always remember this game even if we’ve already forgotten why we discussed peanut butter and jelly. The loudest night in Buffalo featured zero noise complaints.  Dave Hannan might’ve scored before the Bil ..read more

Smokin’ Bills Stomp Out Chiefs’ Domination

Photo from buffalobills.com. All right.  Full disclosure. I left Arrowhead at halftime.  I had a good excuse.  Well, I had an excuse.  Okay, there is no excuse.  The upper concourse was absolutely packed with people at halftime, just standing around and waiting out the weather delay.  The concession stands were selling no beer.  It was raining.  The lightning seemed to keep coming and coming, and the weather radar looked bad.  We decided to go. As we began to push our way through the crowd, I stopped beside a big Bills fan who seemed to be enjoying ..read more

Wyo’s Mental Breakdown: Slaying the Dragon
Bills Mafia

As we sit and wait all day for the highly anticipated matchup on Sunday night between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs, my mind naturally wanders to thinking about what it will take to finally slay the dragon. The Chiefs have owned the Bills and virtually every other team in football (except Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers) for the better part of half a decade. The last time the Bills defeated the Chiefs was a 16-10 snoozer at Arrowhead Stadium on November 26, 2017, when Tyrod Taylor and Alex Smith each threw for less than 200 yards passing in what turned out to be a largely fo ..read more

Photo from actionnetwork.com. Sunday, October 10th, 8:20 PM ET Arrowhead Stadium NBC At 4:01 last Sunday, as we were wringing out our clothes and preparing to leave Highmark Stadium soggy and satisfied, I joked with my wife “Who’s Next?”. Of course BillsMafia has had this game circled on the calendar since January 24th. The Chiefs have replaced the Pats as our new Bogeyman (not to be confused with our rookie defensive lineman). On one hand, it’s one game of seventeen. The powerhouse AFC teams in the North and West have much tougher schedules than the Bills do. An educated guess is that 14-3 or ..read more

Kiddie Rides Over as Buffalo Bills Face Adult Thrills

Photo from theringer.com. It sure was exciting to see if the Texans could get more yards than the Bills got points.  Houston won if gaining net ground compared to losing it on penalties counts.  The competition ended in a nine-yard squeaker. Stefon Diggs advanced the ball farther than Houston.  The visitors also managed six first downs, which beat five turnovers.  I hope you found at least some of those outcomes thrilling. Fans may look for new measures of triumph in a game where one side gets infinity percent more points and it’s even less close than that sounds.  Buf ..read more

Photo from buffalonews.com. Ha ha ha ha!!! Ha ha ha!!! Ha ha ha ha ha!!! The Bills beat the Houston Texans on Sunday.  In a word, it was a laugher.  Final score: 40-0, but as they say, it wasn’t that close.  When the Patriots recovered after a disastrous first half to beat Atlanta in the Super Bowl, someone asked Bill Belichick after the game if the coaches were worried at halftime.  He answered that they didn’t feel too badly, because they were competitive on the field, they just weren’t competitive on the scoreboard.  Well, Houston wasn’t ever competitive, on the sco ..read more

No, no, NO… I’m not referring to my own mental breakdown, which would be entirely too boring to share anyway. Rather, I would like to take this opportunity to spew about how important it is to understand the ‘mentals’ (h/t Marshawn Lynch) unique to each upcoming game. There’s a big chunk of information all over digital media each week where experts share their knowledge about what they see happening (or likely to happen) on the field regarding physical performance. Variables like injury factors, weather, and/or field conditions are frequently included in preview articles. Game previews for an ..read more

Photo by Joshua Bessex/Getty Images. Sunday, October 3 at 1 p.m. ET Orchard Park, NY TV: CBS Weather: 67 degrees, rain likely Even the biggest pessimists in Buffalo can relax a bit this week. Here comes the first of SIX rookie QBs on the Bills schedule. if you need to be concerned about something, maybe the schedule is too easy? Congratulations to the AFC Offensive Player of the week, Josh Allen. Please stop the silly overreactions to every game that isn’t up to MVP standards. By mid January, the Bills record and Josh’s body of work will be MVP caliber. Through three games, I nominate Matt Mil ..read more
