The big news this week for the Raiders is the agreement with the City of Costa Mesa to hold this year’s training camp there. Thus moving it away from the facility in Henderson where the team had held camp since arriving in Las Vegas four years ago.
As someone who has stood on the sideline in the heart of July and August and watched players in full pads and helmets — many of whom over 300 pounds — try to deal with the temperatures that reached well over 110 degrees any given day, the heat would seem to be a good reason to make the move. Actually, it would have been a reason never to leave their ..read more

Friday the Raiders rookies, both drafted and undrafted, hit the field for the first time since signing with the team. And so too does first year head coach Antonio Pierce. All of whom are probably some mixture of eager, anxious, excited, and nervous for their journey to begin.
Piece spoke to the media prior to practice about what he expects from his newest young players this weekend.
“Learning. We’re in Elementary School,” said Pierce. “How we do things the Raider way, Raider culture, mindset, how we play football, how we practice, how we study. They’re doing that now in the classroom. They’re ..read more

The Raiders’ undrafted free-agent class was a little weaker this year compared to previous offseasons, and NIL is likely the reason why. However, the Raiders were able to add a multi-year starter to their offensive line with a ton of big-game experience.
In a recent article by Pro Football Focus, they wrote about each team’s top undrafted free agent signing. For the Raiders, that player was none other than Andrew Coker, an offensive tackle from TCU. Here is what the site had to say about Coker and his fit with the Raiders:
Coker was a stalwart on the TCU offensive line over the last three sea ..read more

The Raiders nearly selected Terrion Arnold in Round 1 of the NFL Draft, but decided to pick Brock Bowers instead. They did not address their cornerback need on the first two days of the draft, instead, opting for help on the offensive side of the ball.
However, that doesn’t mean the Raiders didn’t find any quality talent on defense. In a recent article by Chad Reuter of NFL Media, he named 15 Day 3 picks who could contribute in Year 1.
That list included Decamerion Richardson, a fourth-round selection by the Raiders. Here is what Reuter had to say about the former Mississippi State cornerback ..read more

One of the best value picks for the Raiders during the 2024 NFL Draft was the selection of Tommy Eichenberg in Round 5. The Raiders needed to get bigger and tougher on defense and the selection of Eichenberg will allow them to do that.
But what will his role be as a rookie in Las Vegas? In a recent article by Chad Reuter of NFL Media, he wrote about the selection of Eichneberg and why he believes that he could start right away for Las Vegas.
Here is a snippet of his thoughts on the former Ohio State linebacker:
The Raiders found a potential starting middle linebacker in Eichenberg. The former ..read more

Most teams drafting in the top half of the first round take a player with the expectations they will make an instant impact on the team. Or at least that’s the hope. That’s not something the Raiders have gotten out of a high first round pick in the draft in quite some time. Will Brock Bowers be the one who changes that? If so, the Raiders are not going to force the issue.
“There’s by no means pressure on him to come in and attain any numbers,” Raiders assistant GM Champ Kelly said of Bowers. “We need him to come in, learn this system, get acclimated to this city, meet his teammates, learn how ..read more

Last season when the Raiders fired head coach Josh McDaniels and GM Dave Ziegler, it was Antonio Pierce and Champ Kelly who were given the titles of interim head coach and GM respectively.
Come the end of the season, Raiders fans were excited about the new energy coming from the team, prompting many to hope for the interim tag to be removed from both Pierce and Kelly to make their titles official.
Mark Davis had four choices. Either keep Pierce as head coach and bring in a new GM, keep Kelly as GM and bring in a new head coach, hire a new head coach and GM, or keep both Pierce and Kelly.
