Philadelphia Eagles receiver A.J. Brown got more attention than he was probably expecting when he changed his profile picture to an image of former New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. Within an instant, the internet broke with trade speculation, and an innocent gesture paying homage to the greatest quarterback in NFL history quickly went off the rails. Things got so bad that Brown actually felt the need to hop on social media and explain himself. “TB12 is my favorite player ever. I watch the dynasty and it brought back some memories from my childhood,” Brown posted in the now deleted ..read more

The New England Patriots and offensive tackle Calvin Anderson agreed to a renegotiated contract on Thursday, according to ESPN’s Field Yates. Anderson’s deal will be reduced from $3.35 million in the process. ESPN’s Mike Reiss projects Anderson to be in the mix for a swing tackle role, placing him fourth on the depth chart. This news comes after de facto general manager Eliot Wolf indicated Chukwuma Okorafor would be in line to be the team’s starting left tackle, if the season started today. Anderson was signed as an unrestricted free agent by the Patriots in March 2023. He appeared in five ga ..read more

The New England Patriots had one of the hardest schedules in the league last season, and things could get even worse in 2024 as they embark on the post-Bill Belichick era. There are no questions regarding the current state of the team. The Patriots are rebuilding and looking to forge a new identity under coach Jerod Mayo and de facto general manager Eliot Wolf. Both men will have to prepare the team to hit the ground running in a murderer’s row AFC East division. The Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins and New York Jets are all possible playoff contenders in 2024. But it isn’t just the division the ..read more

The 2024 NFL draft is a week away, which means the mock drafts are coming to an end. For New England Patriots fans, it’s starting to get exciting because they don’t have too wait much longer to find out the direction the team will be headed in for the foreseeable future. Now that we are getting closer to projections being as close as possible, and my own big board rankings complete, this will be a mock draft tailored to if I was in the driver’s seat. It’s too much randomness to try and predict what the front office will do, as this will be the first for this new regime post-Bill Belichick. Le ..read more

Patriots Wire
by Jordy McElroy

The New England Patriots might be “open for business” in the 2024 NFL draft, but they have yet to receive the offer they’re looking for to trade the No. 3 overall pick, per director of scouting and de facto general manager Eliot Wolf. There have been plenty of speculation and reporting that it could take a king’s ransom to get them to move backwards. NBC Sports Boston’s Tom E. Curran even suggested it could take “a lot more” than three first-round draft picks. It makes sense considering the Patriots have a serious need at quarterback, and the value of drafting a player like Drake Maye or Jayde ..read more

The New England Patriots are “open for business” when it comes to potential trades at the 2024 NFL draft. When speaking with the media at a pre-draft press conference on Thursday, Patriots director of scouting and de facto general manager Eliot Wolf claimed trade discussions were “ongoing” with other teams. The Patriots currently hold the No. 3 overall pick in the draft, which should generate plenty of trade interest from teams hoping to move up the board for a quarterback. Granted, New England also desperately needs a quarterback, and the price to get them to do a deal could sky rocket. One h ..read more

UNC quarterback Drake Maye could be available for the New England Patriots to take with the third overall pick of the 2024 NFL draft. However, some executives believe it could be a bad situation, if Maye is expected to start right away without the necessary offensive help around him. This is something New England needs to consider, should they select the UNC star. Offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt has experience developing and working with quarterbacks. He served most recently as a quarterbacks coach for the Cleveland Browns last year, and he also served the position with the Cincinnati Beng ..read more

Former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick parted ways with the Patriots in January. He then began interviewing with other teams, including the Atlanta Falcons. A new report suggests Belichick was willing to give up the same power he held in New England, most notably the general manager duties, and just focus on coaching. Belichick held the general manager role with the Patriots organization since 2001. He enjoyed a tremendous amount of success, before the organization started to struggle in the post-Tom Brady era. Many believed Belichick would get hired in this coaching cycle, but it ne ..read more
