WB Games recently officially unveiled Mortal Kombat 1, the next instalment in the beloved fighting series that will also serve as a reboot of the franchise. Along with its announcement, the company also revealed updated sales figures for the fighting franchise as a whole.
In its announcement press release for Mortal Kombat 1, WB Games announced that NetherRealm Studios’ series has now collectively sold over 80 million units worldwide across all platforms since its debut over 30 years ago.

Evo 2022 is happening this weekend and alongside it is Evo Lounge, a live show that will have “exciting content” and reveals from August 5th to 6th. Sony has already confirmed the presence of Arc System Works, Warner Bros. Games, Capcom, SNK and Bandai Namco Entertainment. However, NetherRealm Studios won’t be present.

The ever-so-mysterious Reiko might not be one of Mortal Kombat’s most prominent or popular characters, but he still holds a special place in the hearts of the series’ fans- and it’s possible that he might end up coming back in the next game in the series.

The 25th annual DICE Awards show has just ended, and we have a full list of winners which you can check out through here. NetherRealm Studios announced in July last year that it had officially ended support for Mortal Kombat 11 and had now fully turned its attention to its next project.
