Washington drafted Temple Linebacker Jordan Magee with the 4th pick in round five, 139th overall, then selected University of Washington safety Dominque Hamption with the 26th pick in that round, 161st overall. For their final selection, Washington drafted Notre Dame edge rusher Javontae Jean-Baptiste with the 2nd pick of round 7, 222nd overall.
We will list all of Washington’s undrafted free agent signings at the end of the column and make an effort to update the list as the signings are reported.

Little Washington History
Aside from five years (1995-1999), from signing Joe Jacoby as an undrafted free agent in 1981 to Trent Williams, the one aspect of Washington’s left tackle position was typically consistency and dominance. Jacoby anchored the legendary group The Hogs to two Super Bowl titles, followed by Jim Lachey on one of the more dominant Super Bowl era teams in 1991. The ineptitude ownership of Dan Snyder wasted the Pro Bowl efforts of Chris Samuels and Trent Williams from 2000 to 2018. Let’s review this team’s left tackle history a bit:

Welcome to draft week, everyone! Finally, right? I don’t know about you, but the buildup to this year’s event has been downright painful, and I can promise you that I spend far less time agonizing over opinions on social media than most people, especially for media or, in our case, quasi-media types. I can’t imagine what it’s been like for those of you who inhabit social media on a regular basis. Washington, of course, has the second overall pick this year, which made me to start wonder about the true extent of Washington’s history of top ..read more

Draft Time
We are now less than a week before the draft. Well, the pick is in from the mock draft experts and the Washington Commanders, with their first selection in the 2024 NFL Draft, select Jayden Daniels, quarterback from LSU.
Daniels rose from third place with just 8.43% of the selections in my first draft article back in January to first place with almost 53% of the selections.
Now, we just have to wait for the real event next Thursday to see if that really happens. Maybe Adam Peters has a big surprise in store for Commanders fans.

This is part 2 of my annual preview of draft-eligible quarterbacks. Since this is such an important position for Washington this year, considering their need for a quarterback and the fact that they hold the overall number 2 pick, I spent quite a bit more time and space on this effort than I usually do. We ran part 1 with my rankings from 5 through 10 and probable undrafted free agents on Monday (click here to read). Today’s part 2 covers the quarterbacks I’ve ranked as #1 through #4, which obviously include those who are in competition to be dr ..read more
