This is part 2 of my annual preview of draft-eligible quarterbacks. Since this is such an important position for Washington this year, considering their need for a quarterback and the fact that they hold the overall number 2 pick, I spent quite a bit more time and space on this effort than I usually do. We ran part 1 with my rankings from 5 through 10 and probable undrafted free agents on Monday (click here to read). Today’s part 2 covers the quarterbacks I’ve ranked as #1 through #4, which obviously include those who are in competition to be dr ..read more

Well, folks, we’ve finally reached the end of the annual draft marathon, almost. This year, we saved the best for last, since Washington is in the unusual position of both having a gaping hole at quarterback and the second overall pick. This therefore represents a confluence of circumstances wherein the Redskins Washington Football Team Commanders Washington has a chance to solve a major, long-term problem. The team has been here before, of course, without success, but hopefully this year will be different. Given the circumstances, I spent ..read more

Draft Around the Corner
As the 2024 draft is rapidly approaching and mock draft fatigue has fully set in, what are some of the things we need to know? The draft history of Adam Peters is truly unknown since this will be his first go-around leading the draft war room making the final decisions. A left tackle is certainly a high priority for Washington, but that position is thin in terms of players who are considered to be day-one starters. So what could the possible directions be through this draft? Especially with the high possibility Washington selects their franc ..read more

Overview
Even with Washington’s additions of Frankie Luvu and Bobby Wagner at linebacker, I would argue it’s still a position of need since Wagner’s deal is for just one season as he’s looking to wind down a hall-of-fame career. What his presence could give the team is a chance to bring in younger talent in this draft and give them a great role model in front of them for a season.
If you listen to a lot of the draft experts, this draft class doesn’t have any starting talent at linebacker. I would be surprised if we see any linebackers go early in the 1st round. This ..read more

Take a journey with me back to the summer of 2021. That was the time that Washington’s star defensive tackle, Jonathan Allen, signed a 4 year, $72M contract extension that included $33.1M in guarantees at signing, with the guarantees rising to more than $35.6M over the life of the contract. Allen rewarded Washington for their faith with his first Pro Bowl season in 2021. Life was good, and fans were hopeful, at least in this one small aspect of Washington football, given the chaos going on at that time in nearly every other area of the franchise.

Overview
The Washington Commanders let Kendall Fuller leave in free agency, while signing Michael Davis, an eight-year veteran, to fill his role. The team drafted Emmanuel Forbes Jr. in the first-round last year, and he was very up and down all season. Washington also has possible starting caliber cornerbacks in Benjamin St-Juste and former first round Noah Igbinoghene along with other young corners of Christian Holmes, Tariq Castro-Fields, and Kyu Blu Kelly on the roster. With Davis and Igbinoghene on one year deals and contracts for St-Juste and Castro-Fields ..read more

Updates
Washington continues to sign camp bodies and players who if they make the team would be roles players.
The first wave of organized team activities for teams with new coaches started Tuesday, April 2nd and will end up with a minicamp in June. Therefore, expect to see an increase in social media posts about players and coaches over the coming weeks.
Conjecture by some draft prognosticators about Washington and J.J. McCarthy, and voila: he appears on the list of possible picks this week.

Heading Into 2024 Draft
This has been the most unpredictable draft for Washington in quite some time, as most “experts” can only give their best possible guess. Sure the term “sources” is thrown around a ton. In the past that a legitimate description, but, in my opinion, today it just equates to people grasping at straws. Look at the head coaching search – Ben Johnson was rumored to be the heavy favorite, which he could have very well been. No one ever took the idea of Dan Quinn being a truly viable option over Mike McDonald and Bobby Slowik. Looking at the intervie ..read more
