Copperas Cove, Tx (FOX 44) - A Copperas Cove man who is already 66 years old has been sentenced to 75 years in prison without the possibility of parole after being convicted of continuous sexual abuse of a young girl beginning when she was eight years old. COPPERAS COVE, Texas (FOX 44) - A man is in jail, and is accused of firing shots at a Copperas Cove home. Copperas Cove Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 2100 block of Liberty Street at approximately 3:28 p.m. Friday in response to reports of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found witnesses who reported seeing a man firing several shots at a residence before fleeing the scene in a black sedan. The Copperas Cove Fire Department received an alarm for a home on fire at approximately 2:25 p.m. Saturday. A Battalion Chief, three engines and two ambulances initially responded. Speegleville, Tx (FOX-44) - A 28-year-old Copperas Cove man has died in an early Thursday morning traffic crash in McLennan County. Joshua Robins, of Copperas Cove, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. Five injured after vehicle crashes through restaurant Department of Public Safety Sgt. COPPERAS COVE, Texas (FOX 44) - Two 60-year-old tortoises have been rescued from a Copperas Cove structure fire. The Copperas Cove Fire and Police Departments responded to the fire at approximately 8:53 a.m. Friday. Firefighters arrived to find an outbuilding in the back of the residence on fire. One of the firefighters was able to help evacuate two 60-year-old pet tortoises from the building, while other firefighters on scene started to extinguish the fire.
