News Release WARSAW — The city of Warsaw has announced two somewhat brief road closures for early next week. NIPSCO has notified the City of Warsaw that they will be closing Anchorage Road, between State Road 15 and the railroad tracks, on Tuesday, May 7, early Tuesday night. The closing will begin at 7 p.m.  and continue for four to six hours, the city announced in a news release.  Anchorage Road and businesses will still be accessible from the East via US 30. Staff Report WARSAW — Two of the three farmers markets in Kosciusko County are opening Saturday. The Kosciusko County Farmers and Artisans Market in downtown Warsaw runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. The Farmers Market at the Miller Sunset Pavilion in Winona Lake kicks off at 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Sheriff Jim Smith told Kosciusko County Council Thursday that they’re getting closer to hiring a resource navigator to oversee the program and that they’ve had about 30 applicants. Barry Andrew, director of the office, is seeking money to provide his officers with tasers and body cams. The $3.2 million plan includes a federal role and took much longer than expected, but construction of nearly two miles of sidewalk is now expected to wrap up in June if all goes as planned, according to City Planner Justin Taylor.
