It's been more than eight months since Jose Manuel Rangel was fatally shot in Cudahy, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is asking for the public's help in tracking down the killer. Rangel, 32, was gunned down on the Clara Street Bridge in the 5400 block of Clara Street at about 4 p.m. on May 14, 2023, the LASD said in a news release. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department is looking for a shooter who killed a man Friday morning and then fled the scene in Cudahy in a black sedan. The victim, only identified as a man, was killed at about 5 a.m. in the 5000 block of Clara Street, the LASD said in a news release. An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.3 jolted the Los Angeles area on Tuesday morning. The temblor struck about 9:26 a.m. and was centered in the Cudahy area, less than 10 miles southwest of downtown L.A., the U.S. Geological Survey reported. With a depth of about 8.7 miles, the quake was "quite deep," seismologist Lucy Jones tweeted. She added that the tremor was "probably felt around much of LA basin." A boy was shot and killed in Cudahy early Saturday morning, officials said. The shooting was reported just before 12:30 a.m. on the 5200 block of Clara Street, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a news release. A gunman was on the loose after a deadly shooting near a school in Cudahy Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.
