RIVERBANK (CBS13) – A man has died after a shooting in the Riverbank Applebee’s parking lot Thursday night.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office says, a little before 10 p.m., they got a report about a shooting at the Crossroads Shopping Center parking lot – which was full with people who were having celebrations after high school graduation ceremonies.
Exactly what led up to the incident is unclear, but detectives believe some sort of dispute happened inside the bar of the restaurant before the shooting outside.

RIVERBANK (CBS13) — Authorities are searching for two suspects after an Amazon delivery driver was targeted by thieves in Stanislaus County over the weekend.
Riverbank Police Services say two men on Sunday approached the driver while he was retrieving a package to deliver in the back of his truck. Two men approached him and told him to get out while holding an unknown object to his back before getting on the ground.

RIVERBANK (CBS13) – An Amazon driver was robbed on Sunday and his packages stolen.
Around 3:20 p.m., the driver was in the area of Damar Court and Heartland Drive in Riverbank when an armed robber targeted the truck and stole an undisclosed number of packages, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Sgt. T. Luke Schwartz confirmed to CBS13.
The driver was not injured.

RIVERBANK (CBS13) – Officers are investigating reports of threats around Riverbank High School on Friday.
Riverbank police say the threats have all been found to be unfounded at this point, but several deputies and investigators responded to the Riverbank High and California Avenue campuses to investigate. Both schools are secure, police say.
The source and the exact nature of the threats have not been made clear.

STANISLAUS COUNTY (CBS13) — Two people have died after a crash involving three vehicles at a rural intersection between Riverbank and Oakdale over the weekend, authorities say.
According to California Highway Patrol, a driver didn’t stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Bentley and Patterson roads a little before 2:30 p.m. Saturday. That driver then crashed into an oncoming car.
Both cars then crashed into a third car – causing that third vehicle to overturn. All three cars ended up off the road after the crashes.

RIVERBANK (CBS13) — A Riverbank man has been arrested in connection to several robberies and attempted robbery cases across the region.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office says detectives linked 26-year-old Dominic Fells to two recent robberies in Riverbank. He is also suspected in two robberies and an attempted robbery in Modesto, as well as another attempted robbery in Tuolumne County.

RIVERBANK (CBS13) — A man from Riverbank pleaded guilty Monday to drug trafficking charges, prosecutors said.
Juan Carlos Cortez-Gomez, 51, arranged a methamphetamine sale with an FBI informant back in September 2020, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Cortez-Gomez was arrested by officers upon arriving at the meeting location.
Investigators located 10 pounds of meth in his vehicle and he later admitted, in a statement, that he was planning to sell it, prosecutors said.
Cortez-Gomez faces a maximum sentence of life in prison and a $10 million fine. He is scheduled to ..read more

RIVERBANK (CBS13) – A man suspected of stealing packages in Riverbank has been arrested.
On Tuesday, 37-year-old Kory Morse of Modesto was arrested on suspicion of stealing packages in and around Riverbank, as well as other outstanding charges, according to a statement from Riverbank Police Services.

STANISLAUS COUNTY (CBS13) — A teenage boy was hit and killed by a car while riding a bike early Wednesday morning in Riverbank.
Deputies found the teen fatally injured on Claribel Road, west of Roselle Avenue around 2:30 a.m.
Officials say the driver called 911 and remained at the scene, cooperating with the investigation. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The victim has not been identified. Deputies said the cause of the crash is still under investigation.

RIVERBANK (CBS13) — Authorities say four people have been arrested in an underage alcohol furnishing sting in Riverbank.
The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department undertook the “Decoy Shoulder Tap Operation” on Friday. Using a minor being monitored by a law enforcement officer, the decoy stands outside a store and asks people going inside to buy them alcohol.
Agents then arrest and cite the person if they agree to buy the minor the booze.
