A Lyft driver has been arrested after he allegedly sexually assaulted a passenger on a trip from West Hollywood to Santa Monica last year. The victim, whose identity has not been released, told the Santa Monica Police Department that 34-year-old Fernando Macias Morales of Los Angeles drove her home from a restaurant in West Hollywood on Sept. 7, 2023, police said in a release. A massive landslide damaged and partially buried a home in the Hollywood Hills as an incoming storm has neighbors worried about more significant damage to come. The home is located on Sunset View Drive and is just above the iconic Chateau Marmont hotel. A suspect remains at large after a man was brutally beaten on a West Hollywood sidewalk, leaving him hospitalized. The unprovoked attack happened on March 17 as the victim, David Velasquez, was riding a scooter home from the store after purchasing cough medicine. “I was heading east and he was coming back this way and that's when, for no apparent reason, he slapped me across the face,” Velasquez said. If you're a fan of Bird scooters, you're about to be out of luck in West Hollywood. On Monday, the City Council decided that Lime is the only company allowed to provide e-scooter and e-bike services beginning on April 1. For an 18-month period beginning in April, Lime will operate up to 200 e-scooters and 50 bicycles in the city's 1.9 square miles. Six Los Angeles County Starbucks stores may soon reopen after the National Labor Relations Board said the coffee franchise closed about two dozen locations to halt union momentum.
