Bubble Waffle Tea c/o Chickenfruit Apparel If you’re looking for foodie merch with diverse representation, check out Chickenfruit Apparel. They were founded by two NYC college students with a goal of creating food apparel featuring cuisine from all over the world, so foodies everywhere can express themselves. From boba to elote, they really do have a lot of variety of food that needs more representation. Aside from tees, they also have stickers and sweatshirts! It was tough choosing between all of the tees, but I am loving this gifted bubble waffle tee. I am wearing a size Medium for extra spa ..read more

Popcorn chicken rice bowl c/o Crunchikn I think Crunchik’n has probably the best Korean fried chicken in Philly – thick, crispy and fresh..seriously 10/10 for me. That said, they also have some other yummy dishes I got the pleasure of trying. If I had to pick only one side to recommend, I would highly suggest the crunchball! Bulgogi Melt (like a banh mi x cheesesteak crossover) Popcorn chicken rice bowl (if you want something filling) Honey soy & spicy chili wings (want more ) Crunchball (Korean arancini – the filling is everything!) Tuna taco (a bit messy but it’s like a sush ..read more

Each pastry is individually wrapped Comparison of quick facts Legendary Foods’ Tasty Pastry line is a recreation of our childhood toaster pastries, but made with minimal sugar and carbs. It comes in brown sugar cinnamon or strawberry flavor and I decided to try the strawberry. It boasts 4g Net Carbs and <1g Sugar, so they were not lying! The top ingredient is almond flour, which makes sense for how they minimized the carbs content. It also has 9g of protein, which is a nice bonus. I taste tested the strawberry pastry straight out of the wrapper, microwaved, and toasted in a toaster oven ..read more

Do you ever have days where you just want something to eat FAST and you don’t want to do a lot of clean up? Eggs are the simplest go to food, but sometimes it gets boring and you don’t have a lot of fresh ingredients on hand. I tried these 1Eatz egg kits and let me tell you, it’s super easy and no mess. Simply add 2 tbsp of water, mix, add an egg, mix, let it sit for 30 sec, and then either microwave or or scramble them on a pan. The only clean up is the packet, egg shell and pan. The four flavors I got were all really good, and I loved that the seasonings were perfectly measured. I didn ..read more

The Killer Brownie Co. Cookie Dough & Peanut Butter brownies Got to try The Killer Brownie Co. and they are like thick and decadent brownie sandwiches. The Cookie Dough “Brookie” has a chocolate chip cookie top layer and a bottom chocolate brownie layer sandwiching its gooey caramel center. The peanut butter flavor has a peanut butter & caramel center sandwiched between two peanut infused brownie layers. I loved this flavor the most. Chocolate and peanut butter ALWAYS mix! I love that these come partially sliced into four, so you can easily cut or rip them into smaller portions for ..read more

Launching in mid-July, Mezcla is a new protein bar company that came about through Kickstarter. Their bars are vegan, gluten-free, soy-free, and non-GMO. Yes, you heard right. And they don’t have a funky aftertaste. In fact, I love that they are able to do that while also incorporating flavors from various cultures. They currently have three flavors: Mexican Chipotle Hot Chocolate, Japanese Matcha Vanilla, and Peruvian Cocoa Peanut Butter. I’ve never seen these flavors in other protein or snacks bars so I am definitely here for it! My favorite flavor of the bunch is the matcha (because I can ..read more

Newground Hard Dutch Latte: Do Caffeine & Alcohol Mix?

Chai Latte & Cafe Latte I got a care package of Hard Dutch Lattes from Newground to try out a couple of weeks ago, and since I am not a frequent drinker, I didn’t try it out right away. These spiked beverages come in chai latte and cafe latte, which is an interesting concept. Do caffeine and alcohol mix? Upon my first taste, I was not ready for the smack of sweetness combined with the alcohol, which I hadn’t had in a while. I decided I didn’t like it and put them in the fridge in my mason jars. After tasting them again today, I feel like I can tolerate it a lot more and the chai and coffee ..read more

Kismet Bagels is a new bagel pop-up shop in Philly (started in May 2020). They are a sweet couple who started this endeavor while learning to bake during the COVID-19 quarantine. When they first decided to sell their bagels, all of their proceeds went to helping the homeless. Currently, a portion of their June sales are going to the BLM Philly movement. They usually do their pop ups around the NoLibs area at Ortlieb’s, but they recently leased a kitchen in the South Philly area for pre-orders. They kindly reached out for me to give their bagels a try and we finally met up today to transfer th ..read more

Sanzo Sparking Water

I recently discovered Sanzo, the first Asian-inspired sparkling water, whose flavors has only 2-3 ingredients and 20 calories or less. There is no added sugar, so it has just a hint of natural fruit flavor. I tried the sampler pack and the first thing I notice is how fragrant each flavor is as I pour them out. There are currently three flavors: calamansi (lime), lychee, and mango. I don’t often drink sparkling water so naturally my mouth had to get used to the initial fizzing of the carbonated water. After taste testing them for a few days, I started to really like them and view them as a gre ..read more
