BALTIMORE (WJZ) — An Odenton man is facing a weapons charge after he allegedly tried to bring a loaded handgun onto a flight departing LaGuardia Airport, the Transportation Security Administration said Monday. A TSA officer spotted the 9mm gun, which was loaded with eight bullets, as the man’s belongings passed through an X-ray machine. ODENTON, Md. (WJZ) — A person died after they were hit by a MARC train Wednesday evening in Odenton, WJZ has learned. The collision happened around 3:30 p.m. and an investigation is underway, Amtrak said. According to fire officials, it happened on the 2900 block of Conway Road, not at a station. (WJZ) — Anne Arundel County police are investigating after a group of suspects tried to steal an ATM from a bank branch in Glen Burnie and a machine was tampered with in another part of the county. ODENTON, Md. (WJZ) — Police have a suspect in custody following a shooting Friday less than a half-mile away from an Odenton elementary school. The shooting was reported about 1 p.m. along Hammond Branch Road off Pine Orchard Parkway, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department. Officers answering that call found someone suffering from a gunshot wound to an extremity, and they took a suspect into custody, police said. According to Anne Arundel County police, officers responded to a report of an assault at the convenience store in the 1300 block of Odenton Road around 12:07 a.m. When they arrived, a customer told police that during a dispute with the employee, the employee grabbed the man and pushed him out of the store. ODENTON, Md. (WJZ) — An Anne Arundel County firefighter was injured after a fire broke out at an Odenton motel fire Monday evening. According to fire officials, a fire broke out around 5:58 p.m. at a Motel 6 in the 1600 block of Annapolis Road. The fire led the roof to collapse on the one-story, vacant building that was previously used as the pool and now used for storage.
