We have been so crazy busy. The last five years has just flown by….. We thought it would be much longer before we arrived this close to being fully off grid. Don’t let anyone tell you this journey is a piece of cake! There are SO many ups and downs, but, it is the most amazing feeling to walk out daily to the critters of the farm! You would not believe how loving and rewarding they can be. But oh these goats! I’m reusing a KFC container. Add about half a cup of sunflower seeds (not store bought salted) they must be raw seeds, mine are from my plants. Cover with wet paperAnd then there were sprouts! The days!!!Cover fingernail deep with clean soil.Starting to pop five days in..Temptation…..Been sampling!!! For those of you that have not eaten sunflower sprouts… They are YUMMY!!! Wow! It’s 62 here in Central Illinois!!! On December 26th!!!! So I decided to test my green thumb and get my hands dirty. My in-laws were throwing their ferns out… a plant that hates my energy… anyway I let them die back so I could cut and separate. One I just cut and put in larger container. The other I split into quarters and potted. Make sure you have sharp tools … The Victim If you don’t repot half way through summer they will look like this… root bound! Yuck!
