Firefighter rescue teams recovered a construction worker who was killed when he was buried in a trench collapse on Friday afternoon. A major mortgage and loan company based in Coppell says a recent data breach may have affected 14.7 million homeowners. Mr. Cooper Group Inc., formerly known as Nationstar Mortgage, isn’t saying what type of cyberattack caused the compromise of customer data. Letters are being sent to customers who were affected. The company originally said the data breach affected about 4 million because a third-party provider hosted banking information related to mortgage payments. The city of Coppell says power has been restored to a pump station that was knocked offline early Wednesday, temporarily interrupting the city’s water supply. NBC’s Dateline will examine the story behind the death of Jonathan Crews, a Coppell man who was fatally shot in his apartment in 2014. A Dallas County jury decided in a three-day civil trial on Sept. 23 that Brenda Kelly, Crews’ former girlfriend, was responsible for his death and awarded the Crews family $206 million in damages. British luxury performance carmaker McLaren selected Coppell for a new North American Headquarters and the invitation-only grand opening is Saturday. Some lucky students from Coppell’s New Tech High School were invited to the first tour of the 31,000-square-foot facility on Friday and NBC 5 was invited to go along.
