According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, they were notified of the crash around 1:18 a.m. When firefighters arrived, they found the car fully engulfed in flames. FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – An Oakland Park high school was placed on a temporary Code Red lockdown after a gun was found on campus. FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – Human remains have been found at a site in Oakland Park after several days of digging by law enforcement. The excavation was part of a criminal investigation by the Broward Sheriff’s Office, working in conjunction with the FBI. The site is located in the 4200 block of North Dixie Highway. According to Oakland Park Fire Rescue officials, they responded to the second alarm fire, located at 4601 NE 6 Avenue around 11:00 a.m. regarding an explosion at a commercial business. Melvin McGauley was in an adjacent classroom. “It was a loud boom and all the lights went out. My teacher said go and we all ran,” he said. FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – The search is on for the driver of a Honda that struck and killed a woman in Oakland Park. It happened Thursday, January 14th, just after 11 p.m. in the 3800 block of North Andrews Avenue. Surveillance video shows the woman, identified as 59-year-old Nancy Vazquez, walking along the median.
