H6 Photo Area firefighters were called on to respond to a large fire on one of the worst weather days of the year last Friday, Jan. 19. Fire had broken out at Bullfrogs Sports Cafe at 33137 Center Ridge Road in North Ridgeville. It was a day where folks were advised to stay home and off the streets. But there it was last Saturday, gleaming like a jewel in the sun along with the dozens of other mouth-watering classics for all to see. The 1977 Cherry Bronco is famous. Village Bicycle Cooperative (in Bay Village) volunteers just finished up involvement with Ranger High Tech Academy in N. Ridgeville with their second annual Bike Project! In this project volunteers Bob Piccirelli, Carl Gonzales, Dave Kett and Eric Evanoff worked with the students in disassembling four used bikes, repairing and replacing worn or broken components, re-assembling and adjusting them to great working condition. When a fire broke out at a North Ridgeville condominium complex last weekend, the call went out to Westcom (Westshore Central Dispatch Center) located within University Hospitals St. John Medical Center. Westcom sends fire and EMS responders to 9-1-1 and emergency number calls in Bay Village, Fairview Park, North Ridgeville, Rocky River and Westlake and for mutual aid to other neighboring communities.
