AZUSA (CBSLA) – A sheriff’s helicopter went down Saturday near the San Gabriel Dam in the Angeles National Forest near Azusa injuring five people aboard, one critically. A sixth occupant, a UCLA doctor, was also onboard for a ride-along and was uninjured in the accident. The five deputies were rushed to a nearby trauma center where they are all expected to recover. AZUSA (CBSLA) – An Azusa police officer wounded in a shootout that left a suspect dead was recuperating Thursday while an investigation continued into the deadly confrontation. The shooting occurred about 4 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of West Gladstone Street, where officers responded to a call regarding a stolen vehicle. Jan. 31, 2022 (CBSLA) The incident occurred at around 9:10 p.m. near the intersection of Cienega Avenue and Sunflower Avenue. LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — Authorities are bracing for possible mudflows in areas were recently scorched by wildfire, including the Bobcat Fire, the Ranch Fire, and the Lake Fire. AZUSA (CBSLA) — A suspect was shot during an officer-involved shooting in Azusa on Friday night. The suspect, who was driving an SUV, crashed near the Little Dalton Wash, a stream just eat of Azusa Boulevard. It also appears there was a short pursuit leading up to the crash.
