Loved ones are searching for a woman who went missing in the San Gabriel Mountains.
The at-risk woman was identified as Rona May Cuena, 59, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
On March 9, Cuena was last seen near the Bridge to Nowhere Trail near Mt. Baldy when she was swept away by a river current at around 9 a.m.
She was unable to be rescued from the rushing waters and has been missing ever since.
Cuena is described as a Filipino woman standing 5 feet tall and weighing 105 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

A crash in Azusa left a car smashed under a big rig truck late Wednesday morning.
The collision was reported just before 10 a.m. on the westbound 210 Freeway, and when the Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived on scene a few minutes later, they found a blue or green vehicle under a semi truck.
One person was extricated from that vehicle and taken to Pomona Valley Hospital, though their condition is unknown.
The condition of the truck driver and the cause of the crash have not been disclosed.

Authorities are searching for an inmate who escaped from a Los Angeles County facility on Thursday.
Evan Chezick, 41, escaped from the Julius Klein Conservation Camp in Azusa and was discovered missing around 7:30 a.m., according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
When authorities couldn’t find Chezick during a morning head count, staff members immediately searched the buildings and grounds but he was nowhere to be found.
Chezick is described as a man standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 187 pounds.

An Ontario man was arrested earlier this week for an alleged hate crime attack that was captured on surveillance video.
On Dec. 23, 2022, police responded to reports of an assault at a basketball court in Azusa's Memorial Park.
The suspect, Sebastian Espinosa, 27, had fled the scene before officers arrived.
“Through the investigation, it was learned that the suspect attacked an Asian male who was playing in the game, seemingly unprovoked,” said Azusa Police.

A $100,000 reward is being offered in the case of a missing teenage girl who disappeared in Carson on New Year’s Day.
The reward is being offered by the City of Carson as the teen's family and local authorities are asking for the public’s help.
The missing teen was identified as Alinka Angeline Castaneda, 16, by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

Three people were hospitalized after a shooting in Azusa early Saturday morning.
The victims were two men and one woman, according to the Azusa Police Department. Their identities have not been released.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 600 block of North Glenfinnan Avenue around 1:28 a.m.
When police arrived, they found three victims with gunshot wounds, authorities said.

A man who died in a shooting and crash in Azusa Monday was streaming live on social media when the incidents occurred.
The crash took place shortly after 10 a.m. in the 17700 block of East Newburgh Street.
Responding officers with the Azusa Police Department found two cars and a truck with significant damage from a crash.
Investigators with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the shooting occurred first, about a half-mile away, near a local meat market.

One person was detained Thursday after someone opened fire on three Angeles National Forest contract workers in mountains near Los Angeles, authorities said.
Nobody was struck by gunfire in the shooting shortly before noon near San Gabriel Reservoir above Azusa, according to Lt. Chris Oakley with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies on the ground with help from helicopters searched for the gunman for about an hour, according to KABC-TV.
Oakley didn't immediately have additional information, such as details about the person in custody.

The Azusa Police Department evacuated houses in a residential neighborhood Monday afternoon after authorities discovered a large amount of illegal fireworks at a home.
Officers began evacuating homes on the 900 block of West Hollyvale Street around 3:20 p.m., according to the Police Department.
