Richmond, Ky. (WTVQ) — Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Saturday night. According police, officers were called to the area of North 3rd Street around 7:45 p.m. for a shooting. Upon arrival they found one victim with a gunshot wound to the chest. They victim was taken to the hospital for treatment. Their condition is unknown at this time. The shooting remains under investigation. No suspect information is available at this time. RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) — A Madison County inmate escaped custody Monday morning, Kentucky State Police says. Gary Rowe allegedly walked away from the Bluegrass Career and Development Center around 8 a.m. today. Rowe, 44, is from Ashland and is described as a white man who has brown hair and blue eyes. He’s 6’0″ and 177 pounds. He has a birthmark on his upper left arm and a tattoo of “ROWE” across his back. KSP says he was serving a sentence for trafficking methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and fleeing/evading police. RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) — Richmond police say they found guns, drugs and over $6,000 on a Detroit man during a traffic stop on Thursday. Around 11 a.m. yesterday, Richmond police allegedly saw a drug transaction between the driver of a vehicle and another person. After officers stopped the vehicle, K-9 Ace alerted to the car. RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) — A registered sex offender was arrested Wednesday after allegedly being seen on a Richmond playground last week. Nathanael Sparks, of Irvine, was seen at the park by two mothers who were watching their children play at a local park around noon, according to Richmond police. The mothers told police Sparks didn’t have any children or another adult with him, and appeared to be using his phone near the playground area. (WTVQ) — Flags across the City of Richmond will fly at half-staff on Monday in honor of former Eastern Kentucky University head football coach Roy Kidd. “The City of Richmond continues to keep the entire Kidd family in our thoughts and prayers,” Richmond mayor Robert Blythe said in a press release. His funeral will also be on Monday at 11 a.m. at the EKU Center for the Arts, which is located at 822 Hall Drive. Kidd died Tuesday, Sept. 12 after a brief stay in hospice care. He was 91. Richmond, Ky. (WTVQ) — Early Wednesday morning, it was a scary situation for people inside the Paddy Wagon Irish Pub after shots were fired inside. Police say James Parsons was paying for his tab when a gun fell out of his bag. Witnesses say he tried to catch it, but the gun went off firing shots in the bar.
