The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, is searching for an inmate who walked away from the Bluegrass Career and Development Center just before 4:00 pm today, April 30th. KSP is searching for Cody D. Hatfield, 27 years of age from Shepherdsville, KY, described as a white male, 5’11″ tall, weighing 130 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Hatfield was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and black/white lounge pants. The Madison County Sheriff’s Office is asking for public assistance locating a stolen tractor. The 1999 John Deere 5300 2wd tractor with John Deere 520 loader and hay fork attachment was stolen from Kirksville Road, in the early morning hours of Saturday, April 27, 2024. This Tuesday evening, April 30, 2024 starting around 6PM, EMA and local first responders will be participating in the annual CSEPP Exercise in Estill County. This year’s decontamination site will be at the West Irvine Elementary School. If you are in the area of West Irvine Elementary you will see fire trucks and other emergency vehicles at the school. RPD make arrests in home invasion/robbery in Richmond

The Richmond Police Department has made two arrests in a home invasion/robbery investigation that occurred on April 23, 2024 on Keystone Drive in Richmond. Police say they were dispatched to a residence around midnight, where the victim stated he heard a knock on his door. The man went on to say he saw four masked men outside and did not open the door. That’s when he says one of the men kicked the door in. The victim further stated he was struck in the head with a firearm, while the intruders stole several items including $900 in cash. Black bear ”sighting season” has officially began. The Garrard County Sheriff’s office say they received calls about a bear in the Richmond Road area near Lancaster Monday night around 10. According to the Kentucky Department of Wildlife, the map below shows areas where black bears numbers are again growing. KSP investigate second Rockcastle murder in 24 hours

Kentucky State Police Post 11 London have disclosed a second murder in Rockcastle County today. This one on Sand Hill Road in Livingston. Detective Peace of KSP has charged Terry L. Burke, 54 years old of Livingston with murder in the case. He is now lodged in the Rockcastle County Detention Center. KSP say this murder is seperate and unrelated to the Sunday murder investigation on Goochland Cave Road. WBON-TV9 expects more information to be released in this case tomorrow. A man being sought in connection to a Rockcastle County murder was taken into custody just before 4 p.m. today at a residence in Mount Vernon. KSP Post 11 London say they arrested 49-year-old Clayton D. Cox for Murder and Tampering with physical evidence. Cox was lodged in the Rockcastle County Jail. “Person of interest” sought in apparent Rockcastle murder

On Sunday, April 28, 2024 at approximately 5:25 PM, Kentucky State Police, London Post was requested by Rockcastle County 911 for a welfare check on Goochland Cave Road in Rockcastle County. When officers arrived, they located a deceased male from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as Joshua L. Dooley, 43, of Mount Vernon.  Mr. Dooley was pronounced deceased by the Rockcastle County Coroner.  Mr. Dooley has been taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
