To help families discover the joys of fishing, the annual Kiwanis Kid’s Fishing Day will be held from 9 a.m. to noon this Saturday at Moscow’s Hordemann Pond. Idaho Fish and Game’s new fishing trailer will be stocked with rods and reels available for loan on a first-come, first-served basis. Eighteen local education agencies in Idaho will receive full or part-time school-based nurses thanks to funding from the Healthy Schools Grant. The grant aids in supporting school-based nursing in underserved schools in Idaho. The Healthy Schools Grant is funded by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, Division of Medicaid, and is administered by the Idaho Department of Education. The Idaho Department of Finance is warning consumers against “Pig Butchering” scams that have recently targeted Idahoans. Pig butchering scams are unique because they are long-term schemes that combine elements of investment scams, romance/friendship scams, and cryptocurrency transactions to steal all the money an individual possesses or can access. LC State Women’s Track and Field is rated No. 20 in the NAIA in the latest edition of the USTFCCCA Track and Field Rating Index, released on Wednesday. The Warriors accumulated 112.65 points and hold three top-10 event rankings. Kea Stieglitz and Madigan Kelly each hold top-five rankings to lead the program in points. LC State Golf’s Bryden Brown was voted the NAIA Men’s Golfer of the Week for the first time in his career, announced by the national office on Wednesday. The Moscow, Idaho, native is coming off his third straight tournament title after winning the Warrior Invitational. Brown won his third straight tournament via a playoff, this time doing so at home. Schools and charters across Idaho will receive funding to install vape detectors in high school bathrooms and locker rooms through the Vape Detector Pilot grant.
