Students at Hartford Union High School got a brief scare Friday morning when a staff member accidentally pushed an ALICE WAVE button used to notify local police of a violent intruder.  Once confirmed it was an accident the principal went on the school intercom system to communicate the button was pushed by accident.   The superintendent says classes  continued as normal, and District  leadership team went throughout the building checking on students and staff,  apologizing for the accident, and answering any questions they may have ..read more

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services  has confirmed a case of measles in an  individual living in Dane County.  According to DHS the person traveled to Rock County for employment.   DHS, in coordination with Public Health Madison & Dane County and Rock County Public Health, are working to identify and notify people who may have been exposed to the measles virus. Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a Culver’s Restaurant in Fond du Lac. Shortly before 2am Friday firefighters were called to the West Pioneer Road Culver’s to find smoke showing from the roof. Crews were met by a construction company and opened holes in the ceiling to quickly extinguish the fire.  The fire caused smoke and water damage.
