A Fond du Lac man received life-threatening injuries in a two vehicle crash in Fond du Lac County. The crash happened late Friday afternoon on Highway Q in the town of Taycheeda.  A  preliminary investigation shows a 34 year old Fond du Lac woman was westbound on Q and was turning into a driveway when she pulled into the path of an eastbound vehicle. The driver of the eastbound car,  a 77 year old Fond du Lac man, was ejected from the vehicle and flown by helicopter to a  hospital with critical injuries. MADISON, Wis. More information is coming to light about a chase involving a stolen vehicle in Fond du Lac County.   Shortly before 8pm Tuesday a  state patrol trooper pulled the vehicle over on Interstate 41 south of County Highway F for a speeding violation.   The trooper learned the vehicle had been stolen and placed the driver in handcuffs, preparing to take him into custody.   When the trooper went back to his squad car the suspect was somehow able to get back in the stolen vehicle and fled the scene.   He exited the Interstate onto t ..read more

The Fond du Lac County Health Department has issued a recall for bagged ice from a Taycheeda gas station.  Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says  20-pound bagged ice bought before April 19 from the Citgo Ledgeview Express, N7593 Taycheedah Way, could be contaminated with E. coli.   The 10-pound bags are not part of the recall.  The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection’s Bureau of Meat and Poultry Businesses conducted a routine sampling and detected coliform and E. coli on the station’s ice machine.  The b ..read more
