Why I CAN'T Stop Looking at my Phone!
Tired As A Mother

A few weeks ago, a personal friend of mine reached out to me about a business opportunity. Being the total skeptic that I am, I of course said no...on more than one occasion. She can attest. Because lets be honest, we are all SO tired of our friends and family trying to sell us something. It doesn’t mean that we don’t still love them dearly, but well...2020 happened. ‍♀️ As the weeks went on and I watched her posting daily proof of her earnings, my interest was peaked. So I did what any logical tired as a mother would do... I sent her a simple message that read “I give. Tell me more.” Within m ..read more

Do You Ever Wonder If There Is More To Life Than This?...
Tired As A Mother

For years, I have rewatched a monologue I saved on YouTube that Steve Harvey made prior to a taping of The Family Feud Show. It’s probably one of the most inspirational speeches I have ever heard and with every viewing, I vowed to put on my big girl britches and step off the edge. The closest I ever seemed to get was my front doorstep. What can I say? Change is difficult for me. If you haven’t seen the clip, it’s a must view and can be watched below. https://youtu.be/YCFGKDwGI5g In life, it’s easy to become “comfortable” especially, when you have children. As parents, we become content with wh ..read more

The Great Disappearing Act

Kids are literally little Houdini’s. No matter how closely of an eye you keep on them, at some point during their childhood, they will disappear on their parents and scare the ever living shit out of them. I’m fully convinced it’s a secret right of passage for children that once complete, they gain access to even more tricks and pranks to play on us. For our oldest it was in a department store. For our second it was at a small town football game. For our third it was at grocery store. And for our youngest, Wyatt the terror, it was 2 days ago. Which brings me to my story... Our youngest child W ..read more

This may be a controversial post, but somebody has to say it. We are living in a time right now where our children have now been home with us since mid March. As glorious as that has been, that means that 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week we have all gone without reprieve. No showers have been taken in solitude, no privacy has been allowed on the toilet, no downtime to process thoughts, nada. But there is something far worse happening. A crisis, some might even say...parents across the nation are becoming abstinent! Not by choice, but because we cannot talk about sex or get a moment alone togethe ..read more

Hard Times Will Always Reveal The Truth In People
Tired As A Mother

One of my favorite sayings in life has always been “if you want to hear God laugh, tell him your plans.” Apparently, we all got a little too confident with ourselves in 2019, so 2020 came barreling towards us like a scene straight out of Sharknado. I even found a few photos that predicted it’s arrival! Our family was no exception to the torturous year we’ve all had to endure thus far. And just when I was beginning to feel like we had things figured out, I took my 1st deep breath and...BAM!...a sliding curveball knocked me right off my feet. If you have been reading my blog posts regularly, yo ..read more

I Believe There Are Angels Among Us

My entire life, I have had things happen to me that I just can not explain. I like to call them my special moments from God . Call it intuition or say that it’s the empath in me, but it’s true. Whether it‘s a perfectly timed song on the radio, saying all of the things I need to hear in that moment or the brief scent of a loved one who has passed on a day I am really missing them. It never ceases to amaze me when it happens and has even made me laugh out loud at times and say “okay God, I hear you!” For a long time I wondered if I was alone with these moments and I was embarrassed to talk about ..read more

The Last Time... A Story For Every Parent

Today, our youngest son came to me, out of the blue, and asked if I would help him get his bike out. He has had very little interest in learning how to ride it, but for some reason today he felt the urge to try. So without hesitation, I went out to the garage and wiped off the PJ Masks bicycle that has been collecting dust in the corner for over a year now. I watched our son climb onto it with determination and courage, his attention focused on me for guidance as we slowly walked to the edge of our driveway. I explained the basics of balancing and steering to him and could see he was beginning ..read more

How We Turned Our Backyard Into a Summer Oasis the Whole Family Can Enjoy!
Tired As A Mother

It’s happening, the gates of hell are opening and the flames are rising...summer is here. Don’t get me wrong, I love summer but the heat we experience here in Kansas leaves all of us wishing for a pair of ruby red heels to click together and escape...anywhere! When we moved here, 8 yrs ago, one of the things we loved most about our house was the backyard. It’s huge and it offered us plenty of room to add some fun... What we failed to notice was the direction it faced, the West. So from 12 o’clock on everyday it turns into an area sufficient for heat stroke. And just like that, our plans to ex ..read more

When You Take Your Kids Fishing
Tired As A Mother

As we all try to adjust to a different life this summer, many of us are wondering as parents what in the hell are we going to do for fun with the kids? How are we possibly going to be able to entertain our minions for another 2.5 months if pools don’t open and amusement parks, malls, zoo’s, etc have restrictions and reservation only policies? If your kids are anything like ours, you’re beginning to see how difficult it is to pry them away from their video games and computers. They have become their pacifiers and the ”suck” is HARD. This morning, I literally had to go into our 13yr old daughter ..read more
