WOODLAND – Hiding in a garbage can couldn’t throw Woodland police off the scent of a suspect. On Sunday, just before 10 a.m. a Woodland police officer stopped a vehicle with no license plates in the area of W Eldorado Drive and Ashley Avenue. The passenger jumped out of the car and ran off. They were later found hiding in a garbage can on the side of a residence in the 800 Block of W Eldorado. Officers found a Glock handgun near where he was caught. (AP/CBS13) — Two Yolo County men convicted of killing a pair of teenagers who vanished six years ago were sentenced Friday to life in prison without the possibility of parole, prosecutors said. Chandale Shannon, 25, of Winters, and Jesus Campos, 22, of Woodland, were sentenced for the 2016 kidnapping and killing of the teens, whose bodies were never found despite years of effort. “The crimes were evil. WOODLAND (CBS13) — A Woodland man was taken into custody in Woodland after he allegedly ran from police Friday night. At 11:12 p.m., an officer saw a vehicle run a red light at East Main Street and County Road 102, but when he attempted to stop the driver, he drove away leading the officer on a pursuit, according to a social media post. WOODLAND (CBS13) – Firefighters say they expect to be at the scene for a while after an agricultural facility in rural Woodland caught fire early Friday morning. Woodland Fire crews responded to the scene along the 1800 block of County Road 98 around 4 a.m. Crews report that the fire involves a heavy fuel load, meaning it will take some time to put out the flames. California Highway Patrol says the crash happened just before 7 a.m. near the offramp to the community of Yolo. The Woodland Police Department says, just before midnight, officers responded to the area of W. Beamer Street and N. Ashley Avenue after they spotted aerial fireworks in the neighborhood.
