A man died Sunday night after he was shot in Desert Hot Springs. Police were called to Palm Drive about 10:13 pm, according to KMIR. They arrived to find a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Life-saving measures were taken, but were unsuccessful and the man died at the scene. An investigation is underway after the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department says was an incident in which a deputy accidentally discharged his service weapon during a domestic disturbance call. Two hikers were rescued Thursday night after becoming lost on a Desert Hot Springs hiking trail. Riverside County Sheriff were called to the Bernardo Trail Head about 9:13 pm, according to a news release. A 23-year-old male and a 20-year-old female reported being lost along the Bernardo Trail Head with a no water and no warm clothes. Members of the Riverside County Desert Sheriff’s Search and Rescue responded to the scene to assist in locating the lost hikers. A man who police say was not wearing any pants was arrested near Desert Hot Springs on Tuesday morning after residents of a home were awakened to find the strange sounds in their kitchen were coming from a stranger cooking eggs and eating flan.
