Authorities and county officials are searching for the suspects who shot and killed a man in Monrovia in 2021. On Jan. 29, 2021, Terry Alford, 46, was visiting family at a home on the 100 block of Los Angeles Avenue at around 5 p.m.  He was on the front porch when four male suspects suddenly appeared from an adjacent alleyway. Firefighters from multiple agencies responded to a blaze at Bradoaks Elementary School in Monrovia that erupted Wednesday morning. The fire was first reported around 7:45 a.m. at the school located in the 900 block of East Lemon Avenue. South Pasadena police are searching for a missing man who was last seen near a Monrovia trailhead on Saturday. The man was identified as Colin Brian Walker, 53. Walker is an avid hiker whose vehicle was found parked in the 900 block of Ridgeside near a trailhead, police said. Thirty-eight cats were rescued after they were found being hoarded in a Monrovia trailer on Friday. The felines were discovered in cramped and unsanitary conditions inside a small space with no air conditioning, rescuers said. Some of the cats were found suffering from upper respiratory issues, but all were later listed in stable condition. A $75,000 reward is being offered for information on the murder of a Monrovia boy killed in 2016. The child, 4-year-old Salvador Esparza III, was shot and killed while standing on a house porch on the 300 block of Figueroa Drive in Altadena on July 5, 2016, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. No one is more excited than this black bear that Monday is trash pickup day in the 900 block of Norumbega Drive in Monrovia.
