Trailing 1-0 after half an inning, Bangs scored 11 runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back. Nelda Gay Davis, age 83, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away Thursday, November 11, 2024 at Covenant Hospital in Lubbock. She was born November 24, 1940, in Coleman, Texas. The daughter of Ottis Lee Havner and Floy Mae (Dillard) Havner. She married Bob Davis on December 11, 1981, in Lovington, New Mexico. Nelda graduated from Brownwood High School, she married JL Johnson and they had 2 sons, Jack and Rodney. He worked in the oilfield and she owned and ran a grocery store in Rankin.
