My hills and valleys

This subject gets me fired up in the best of ways! Through this post, my prayer is that I give an inkling to this incredible topic. Perhaps one of the biggest questions in life among creation is “How do I know God’s Will for my life?” or “What is my purpose in life?” It’s likely that you too have wondered the same thing. You will see me use the terms “God’s Will, Purpose, God’s Plan or Calling” interchangeably throughout this text. I truly hope this post sheds light on understanding God’s Will for you life. Your purpose in life isn’t as suspicious as you think. God’s plan for your life isn’t a ..read more

How I got distracted from God’s calling
My hills and valleys

This is a difficult post to write, not because transparency is hard for me, but because I haven’t written a blog post in over 1 year. The reason for that is distraction. So today I’m exercising my writing muscles to tell you how I got distracted from God’s calling. And more importantly, how to get back on track to walking in His calling. It all began 3.5 years ago, God called me to start this blog. Using my voice in this space was a huge step in faith for me. Doing something I’ve never done before held risks that took me far outside of my comfort zone. And in the past few years, I’ve learned t ..read more

Keeping Your Faith Despite Your Circumstances
My hills and valleys

The dreaded phone call, the medical report, the life-altering circumstance that pivots your life. Most of us encounter this sort of redirection in life and when it arises, how do we respond? How do we keep our heads up, our focus on the Lord and His “plans” or “redirection” perhaps. As Christians we quickly use this terminology to make difficult circumstances somewhat tolerable. But as my family is digesting some particular news today, I can’t help but wonder “is this part of God’s plan?” Or is this just a result of an accident & now we have to choose to mope around OR accept the situation ..read more

What is Christianity?
My hills and valleys
by Melissa

This post is courtesy of the comment section of a reel I posted on Instagram that says “If Christianity is man made, why does everything about it go against mans desires?” This sparked a huge debate about the meaning of the term Christianity. What is Christianity? Is Christianity man made or is it being a Christ follower? Is the term Christian even in the bible? Are you a Christian upon salvation or are you a Christian upon salvation in addition to continuously walking with Christ? There are some who believe in God (saved or unsaved) and refer to themselves as Christians. Heck, even some cults ..read more

Honoring Your Husband as the Head of the Home
My hills and valleys

A father’s intuition is just as significant as a mother’s. And although I haven’t always felt that way; I’ve learned that honoring your husband as the head of the home is something God calls us to. It’s through this willful submission that my family has blossomed in ways only the Lord could have predicted. I’ve seen that my husband is just as well equipped and although sometimes we have different ideas on how things should be done, we agree on the same end-result regarding what’s best for our home. It’s definitely taken a huge amount of faith to trust my husband as the head of the home. Not be ..read more

King’s Landing is referred to as “nature’s theme park” and it’s a great way to immerse yourself in the beauty of natural Florida. I preface this with saying I am not high maintenance however the idea of camping doesn’t really excite me. But my husband and sons have been wanting to go camping so I agreed to go and promised I’d make the absolute best of the unknown.. and I did! King’s Landing Camping King’s L ..read more

Why it’s important to walk with like-minded believers
My hills and valleys

I find it interesting some of the synonyms for walk are lead, usher, shepherd, steer and guide. So my question for you today is who is guiding you? One of God’s greatest gifts is the people we get to walk alongside in life. With that said, I’m going to tell you why it’s important to walk with like-minded believers. Here’s the thing, I believe that when we allow ourselves to be accountable to other believers, meaning, we confide in them, we can expect them to guide us according to scripture. And ultimately, that’s what we want, right? We need to be challenged to grow in our faith and when a bel ..read more

What I’ve Learned as a Stay-at-Home Mom
My hills and valleys

I’m currently touring schools to decide where my second & last child will attend VPK. The realization that after VPK, he will go off to kindergarten has me reminiscing over the years I spent home raising littles. It’s all together emotional and I feel led to share what I’ve learned as a stay-at-home mom in hopes that it brings encouragement to the mom who is in the early stages of this sweet life. One day you’ll look back and realize that these days were the best days. And I wouldn’t trade the time I had home with them for anything in the world, despite even the hardest of days. I was rais ..read more
