WISCONSIN OFFICE OF CHILDREN’S MENTAL HEALTH School shootings have a traumatic effect on the entire school community and can cause long-term harm to youth mental health and well-being. Children who survive shootings have twice as many pain disorders, are 68% more likely to have a psychiatric diagnosis, and are 144% as likely to develop a substance use disorder than those who did not experience a shooting. FOR WAUSAU TIMES Wausau Area Metro Special Olympics team – “The Dream Team” won both their games at the regional competition in Stevens Point on March 17th, 2024, to earn a spot at The Spring State Special Olympics games held in Oshkosh April 12-14.  They won their first two games on Saturday against the Eau Claire Wolverines and St. Coletta Crusaders and on the final day were able to beat the Door County Tigers, to end the competition with a perfect record and win the gold medal. The St. Michaels Royals win League Championship for second year in a row! MIKE HOFMANN PRESIDENT-WAUSAU INTERCHURCH DARTBALL LEAGUE The St. Michaels Royals win for the second time in as many years! The Royals had already won the A division in the Wausau Interchurch Dartball League and was headed for the League Championship Playoffs.
