The Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center in Great Falls recently won a prestigious award from the Governor's Office for Tourism. Managed by the U.S. Forest Service, the 25,000 square-foot facility includes a permanent exhibit hall, 158-seat theater, an education room for hands-on curriculum-based activities, and a retail store. This weekend, the Electric City Dirt Riders will host rounds one and two of the Central Montana Motocross Series. The Electric City Dirt Riders is a nonprofit motocross club, so all of the proceeds from memberships and events go back into the club, such as helping pay for improvements to the track and, recently, adding more space for spectators. They offer a variety of memberships where members can come to the tracks and ride anytime, and hold spectator events that bring in revenue for the club. The Fly Project will be premiering two short films about fly fishing adventures at the Magpie in Great Falls on Wednesday, April 24th, at 7pm. The Fly Project is part of House of Fly, which started in 2015 as a passion project, with team members building fly rods in a shed. Now, at their various House of Fly locations, they sell fly fishing equipment like reels and fly boxes. Helena native Sean Ableys play, "The End of the World (With Prom to Follow)" takes the stage at the Bill Williamson Hall Auditorium at C.M. Russell High School this week. The Great Falls Animal Shelter is set to host its annual 'Barking Lot' event, which combines a yard-sale type of fundraiser with an adoptable animal showcase. The U.S. Forest Service will be conducting a controlled burn around Benton Lake on Tuesday, April 23, 2023. They will be burning more than 300 acres at the Benton Lake National Wildlife Refuge.
