A car with an out-of-state license plate in Chino Hills turned out to have been stolen, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said, and three Perris residents were arrested. The car was spotted at around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday morning, and vehicle records showed it had been stolen from Perris in July, the SBSD said in a news release. "During a search of the vehicle, a pair of brass knuckles, drug paraphernalia, and a small bag of narcotics were recovered," deputies said. A Claremont man was arrested after trying and failing to burglarize two Chino Hills homes early Monday morning, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. In the first burglary attempt, which occurred at 1:23 a.m. in the 14000 block of Evening Primrose Place, a man tried to open several doors in the home's backyard, though he had left by the time deputies arrived, officials said in a news release. A person was hospitalized after being shot at a P.F. Chang's restaurant in Chino Hills on Saturday.  The suspected shooter was identified as Lauro Rangel, 32, from Norwalk, by the Chino Hills Police Department. A Chino Hills man was arrested on Thursday after he was caught on camera allegedly impersonating a law enforcement officer.  On July 11, a victim in Chino Hills reported that a person impersonating a law enforcement officer stopped him for a traffic violation, according to a news release from the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department. A Rancho Cucamonga man is behind bars after he allegedly broke into a vehicle, stole a wallet and used a credit card from that wallet last month, which authorities say is only one of several burglaries committed by him. Christopher Luettgerodt, 38, burglarized a car in Chino Hills on May 1, then used the unidentified victim's credit card to buy more than $300 in fuel at a nearby gas station, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said in a news release. A Chino Hills man is behind bars and facing multiple charges after he allegedly left a package that he claimed was a bomb in the front yard of a house. A man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly striking his co-worker with a cleaver multiple times at a Chino Hills grocery store amid an ongoing dispute, authorities said Monday. A 38-year-old Chino Hills man died after he was shot multiple times on Monday. Remy Navarro was found lying in a breezeway in the 16300 block of Butterfield Ranch Road in Chino Hills, and though deputies took him to a local hospital, he was later pronounced dead, the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department said in a release.
