A resident is left in shock after her surveillance camera captured a mountain lion prowling through vehicles in her front yard.
The cougar was spotted Thursday, Feb. 8, on Gateway Drive and McVicker Canyon Park Road just before 9 p.m.
Valerie Chapman says she and her husband rushed to the window to see the cougar when they spotted it on their camera, but it was gone before they got a glance.
“I was like, ‘Oh my God, there’s really a mountain lion roaming around my yard right now,'” said Chapman. “It was shocking, exciting and scary all at the same time.”

Surveillance footage captured two women at the Elsinore Valley Cemetery loading their vehicle with flowers that visitors leave for their deceased loved ones.
This is the second time this month that the two thieves were seen stealing several beautiful flower arrangements from gravesites. A cemetery worker noticed the two from a distance and couldn’t believe what he was seeing.
Cemetery district manager, Stephanie Garcia, was notified and was also confused at why anyone would stoop so low.

Family and friends plan to gather Friday night at a park to remember a 12-year-old middle school student who died after he collapsed during physical education class.
Yahshua Robinson collapsed Tuesday around 11 a.m. during his physical education class at Canyon Lake Middle School in Lake Elsinore. The temperature at the time in the western Riverside County community was in the low- to mid-90s.

Family members say a teacher ignored a 12-year-old’s pleas for help before he died after being forced to run during sweltering heat at his Riverside County middle school.
Yahshua Robinson suffered a medical emergency Tuesday around 11 a.m. during his physical education class at Canyon Lake Middle School in Lake Elsinore. The temperature at the time was in the low- to mid-90 degrees.

Two contracted workers in the Lake Elsinore Storm’s clubhouse were burned in a natural gas explosion at Diamond Stadium today that prompted postponements of games Friday and Saturday.
The blast occurred about 4:20 p.m., according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
The agency said multiple engine crews and other units were sent to the location and found the two victims suffering from moderate burns to different parts of their bodies.

A man wanted for questioning in the shooting death of an 18-year-old man is sought by deputies in Riverside County.
The shooting happened inside an apartment in Lake Elsinore on May 7 and claimed the life of Noah Ivancso.
“He was just a loving kid. I mean, he had a lot of friends. A lot of people loved him,” said mother Christina Ivancso, who spent Mother’s Day this weekend without her only son.

A skydiver rescued after she was tangled in high-tension power lines Monday in the Wildomar area said she’s thankful to be alive.
Firefighters responded to Corydon Road and Garden Street in Riverside County and used a ladder truck to reach the skydiver. The skydiver was communicating with firefighters throughout the rescue refused medical treatment at the scene, authorities said.
The location is just south of the skydiving landing zone. The skydiver told NBCLA she was trying to avoid another power line as she descended toward the landing zone.

An Orange County sheriff’s deputy died after crashing into a palm tree while driving home from work Thursday morning, leaving behind a wife and 1-month-old child.
Deputy Brian Haney, who worked patrol in San Juan Capistrano, crashed along the 25300 block of Railroad Canyon Road in Lake Elsinore around 5:15 a.m., Orange County Sheriff’s Department and Riverside County Fire Department spokespeople told NBC4.
