CASPER, Wyo. — Casper will celebrate Arbor Day at Fort Caspar, 4001 Fort Caspar Road, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, according to a press release from the City. Mayor Stephen Cathey will read the Arbor Day proclamation and start the festivities. Kindergarten and third-grade students from St. Anthony Tri-Parish School will help plant five trees. The trees are sponsored by Rocky Mountain Power. The Wyoming State Forestry Division will honor Casper for its commitment to effective urban forest management, too. Mills man gets 4–8 years for firing gun at occupied car in police station parking lot

CASPER, Wyo. — A Mills man has been sentenced to four to eight years in prison for firing a gun at a vehicle with his estranged wife and her then-boyfriend inside. “That you had the audacity to do it in the parking lot of [the Mills] police station is unfathomable,” Judge Josh Eames said when imposing the sentence on Friday, April 19. 40-year-old Brandon Waltrip had ultimately pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault and battery. Casper Reentry Center escapee arrested in Fremont County

CASPER, Wyo. — A man who escaped from the Casper Reentry Center on Monday was arrested in Fremont County on Wednesday. Jordan Oldman, 31, did not return from his work-release program at 9 p.m. Monday and was reported as an escape from the Natrona County Sheriff’s Office, according to a press release on Tuesday. Wednesday afternoon, Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kiera Grogan announced Oldman had been located and arrested in Fremont County.
