LYNN (CBS) — A teacher in Lynn has received an exciting recognition — Tymond Tran was named one of Amazon’s teachers of the year. Tran teaches computer science at Thurgood Marshall Middle School in Lynn. This year, Amazon named him a Future Engineer Teacher of the Year. The award is $30,000, $25,000 goes to the school and the teacher gets to keep $5,000. “I was incredibly surprised. Lynn Police said Saturday that Angel Diaz, 19, from Salem is being charged with carrying a firearm without a license, failure to stop for police, and several motor vehicle charges. LYNN (CBS) – Two people were shot in Lynn early Thursday morning. Police were called to Cedar Street just after 4 a.m. and found a 21-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man wounded. Both were taken to Salem Hospital with what police described as “non-life-threatening injuries.” Bullet holes could seen in an SUV and a home on the street. LYNN (CBS) — A multi-family home on Broadway Street in Lynn was destroyed by a fire Saturday. Flames could be seen bursting from the home around noon. All of the residents inside the home, which included seven adults and four children, made it out safely. LYNN (CBS) — A Lynn man says a snowbank blocked his street so he was unable to get home on Saturday night. Lloyd Leslie Brown, who lives on Beacon Hill Avenue, came home late after working a double shift and was forced to spend the night in his truck. Work crews plowed the main Beacon Hill Avenue but, in the process, blocked in Brown and his four neighbors who also live off of Beacon Hill Avenue, even though the street name does not change.
