SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -- A Suffolk-based aviation company is being awarded an FAA Certification. ARNE is a woman-owned small business that works with TSA to maintain safety and security standards. The FAA Part 135 operating certificate was a three year process. ARNE also provides the jump aircraft for Skydive Suffolk. ARNE was started in 2015 to provide specialized aircraft for civilian and military parachute training, a release states. On March 19, Delores Smith, from Suffolk, asked her husband to get a Mega Millions ticket from Joe's Kwik Mart. SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A dog was killed and two elderly residents were injured in a house fire Friday morning in Suffolk, firefighters say. It broke out around 10:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Eagle Lane in the Chuckatuck area. Photos from Suffolk Fire & Rescue show heavy smoke and flames throughout the one-story home. Firefighters say the two people who were hurt were occupants of the home, and they were in the process of evacuating when crews arrived. They were taken to the hospital. SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) -- Two people were airlifted after a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Wednesday in Suffolk. Suffolk police say it happened around 4:35 p.m. on westbound Route 58, just west of exit 189. The crash involved the tractor-trailer and one other vehicle. Both the driver and passenger of that other vehicle were both airlifted to the hospital via helicopter with life-threatening injuries. The tractor-trailer driver meanwhile was uninjured.
