CHICAGO (CBS) – A 44-year-old woman is arrested after stealing an ambulance from a hospital Saturday evening. Around 7:34 p.m., Gary Police responded to a call at Methodist Northlake Hospital located at 600 Grant street of a stolen ambulance from the emergency room entrance. The staff from Elite Medical Transportation was there to transport a patient but noticed the ambulance was missing when they returned, according to authorities. The ambulance was located around 7:45 p.m. at Ridge Road and Colfax. A Griffith officer recovered the ambulance and arrested the woman who was still inside.   ..read more

As CBS 2’s Jim Williams reported, Tory’on Dukes was right next to his mother at the time. She was also shot and was wounded. GARY, Ind. (CBS) — A teenage girl’s body was discovered in an alley in Gary, and police late Tuesday were trying to verify who it was. As CBS 2’s Eric Cox reported, the girl’s body was discovered in an alleyway near 20th Avenue and Pennsylvania Street by utility workers Monday morning. Their coworkers said the teen was found tied to a newly-placed utility pole, and they believe she was beaten to death. CHICAGO (CBS)– One of the two women who went missing in Gary has been located. Now, officials are asking for help in locating Jessica Flores, 36, a mother of six who is still missing. Jessica Flores and Melina Cotrell Flores and her friend Melina Cottrell were last seen together on a Facebook Live video in February. Police found a car partially burned in Chicago with some of Flores’ items inside. Cottrell was found alive and safe Friday night, but Flores’ disappearance remains a mystery.
