With camping holidays finally back on the cards in the next couple of weeks it's time to dust off that camping gear and get ready to hit the road. This kit list caters for your standard car camping expedition where your car is parked close by your pitch and there is minimal transportation of gear, multi-day treks or wild camping would entail a focus on less bulk, potentially even sacrificing wine. Or at least the bottle, time to get creative with the old hydration pouches...
A word of warning if you haven't booked yet, pitches at the more popular and well known sites are going fast! Some site ..read more

Your kit needs will vary depending on the time of year but this gives you a standard packing list to cover most eventualities, including becoming stranded for the night. It doesn't cover winter conditions or extra kit for a dip in a lake or tarn when it's slightly warmer.
Don't forget to check the mountain forecast whenever you're heading for the hills, the conditions on the tops can be hugely different to those lower down so a standard forecast won't cut it.

If you have ever felt doubt creep in as you looked around and thought there's nobody with my background doing this, then you'll know how much representation matters in encouraging participation. The outdoor industry can be guilty of only reflecting one type of customer and not showing the diverse range of people active in the outdoors, whether thats in terms of gender, colour, size, orientation or disability. That's what led me to create a list of inspirational women, across different ages and ethnicities, who are carving their own path in the outdoors and redefining what it means to be ..read more

My mind wasn't even open to the possibility of being an outdoorsy person. Sure I'd done my fair share of family hill walks as a reluctant teen but anything more adventurous? I hadn't even considered it, that was something other people did. More athletic, slightly crazier people, and generally not people who looked like me.

As we're all spending a lot more time at home lately it's a great time to start looking after our bodies by integrating some yoga into our routine. Contrary to popular belief you do not need designer leggings and a dancers body to start doing yoga. All you need is your body and, ideally, a yoga mat. Of course there are a range of props and accessories that can come in handy to support you in poses, and make you feel more of a bona fide yogi, but really the most important thing is you.
Can't touch your toes?
Sore back?
Not flexible?
These are all reasons to start yoga! You don't even ne ..read more

When you're desperate to be outdoors but the odds are stacked against you there is one way you can keep focused on adventure, by planning one.
There is something intoxicating about unfolding a map and tracing potential new routes across the fells. Searching for camping spots, making sure you don't miss out on a glimpse of a hidden waterfall, and perhaps (if crowds are also your worst nightmare) avoiding the inevitable tourist traps. Will you drive to the start or do you need to catch a train or even a plane? If you're waiting for the weather to improve what kind of kit will you need for the c ..read more
